Tokyo will always surprise me! After few years visiting this city, I still discover new cool places like Koenji.

Koenji is located in Suginami ward, in the west side of Tokyo. The best way to get there is to take the Chuo line from Shinjuku (10 min ride).

So what is so special in Koenji? The atmosphere here is so different than other neighbourhoods in Tokyo. It actually reminded a lot of the vibe in Shimokitazawa where I currently live.

Koenji has so many vintage shops selling stylish second hand clothes. It was also the center of the Rock / Punk culture in Tokyo so you will also feel that vibe here. Add to that you can relax, drink and eat at nice old-school bars, izakaya and restaurants in Koenji!

I don’t know if you are a kind of nostalgic person but if you are (like me), you are going to love Koenji!
