Let’s explore the thought process along with some of the pros and cons of moving abroad to start a new life. I will share my own personal journey and experiences living in different countries and cities, including my current experience as an expat in Portugal. We will also discuss the remote possibilities of other countries to live in, in other parts of the world such as South America or Asia. We’ll also get into the considerations of safety, culture, and lifestyle as I think it’s important to weigh the decision of where to make your permanent (or even temporary) home. Join me for this episode of Not Your Average Globetrotter as we discuss the pros and cons of living in major cities, the convenience of proximity to other European destinations, and other topics such as the importance of being close to family. Hopefully, some of my thought processes may help those who are thinking about moving abroad, or moving abroad again even if you find yourself attracted to different details related to a location or different locations than what I might consider.

  1. For someone interested in Moving to Italy away from the Tourist Areas there are some things that are Universal Questions to ask for Young to Old Working, Studying or Retiring.
Costs for Prescriptions, Travel Insurance, and Private Insurance compared to the United States.
If someone Needs Meds for Pre-Existing conditions that would be considered a Maintenance Drug like for Blood Pressure, Asthma, Migraines or any other conditions.
Can You Please answer this in a Video for Everyone.
Thank You and Keep Up with the Great Informative Videos.

  2. I have Lived in 3 out of 4 different areas which are Urban, Suburban, and Rural. Just not out in the country.
Urban which was in New York City.
I no longer live in New York City but Work in New York City and commute daily.
NYC, Yes is Very Busy, Noisy and Not the place that Everyone might want to live.
When I Retire I would like to be in a Rural area in Italy as My First Choice, but will have to do Research both before leaving the US and then before I settle down long term by checking out a few different areas in Italy.

  3. Be happy to take up your offer to discuss this question deeper! Off on Sunday to Turkey & elsewhere– back on ides of March so let's plan a session when I'm back. Appreciate hearing your perspective to my question! BTW, you mentioned the climate in Singapore– run rises at 7am & sets at 7pm every day of year. But it does get 2 monsoons– NE & SW and those provide great sailing & blow the mosquitoes & Indonesian forest— and the NE keeps the annual Indonesian forest burning smoke away. But being on equator it's hot/humid 24/7/365.25…

  4. Many Portuguese words are similar to English words because both languages have a common origin in the Germanic branch of the Indo-European language family. Both languages were also heavily influenced by Latin, as Portuguese is a Romance language, and English has borrowed many Latin words throughout its history.

Additionally, the Portuguese and English languages have a shared history, as the Portuguese were among the first explorers to navigate the seas and establish colonies in the 15th and 16th centuries. This led to a significant exchange of vocabulary and linguistic influences between the two languages, particularly in the areas of navigation, trade, and colonization.

Another factor contributing to the similarities between Portuguese and English words is the historical relationship between Portugal and England. The two countries were often in contact through trade and politics, and this also led to an exchange of words and phrases.

In summary, the similarities between Portuguese and English words can be attributed to their common origin in the Germanic language family, their shared history of Latin influence, and the historical relationship between Portugal and England. From Chat GPT!!! I'm pretty happy with the language here, if I lived in a country without Latin script, I think it would cause day-to-day stress.

  5. Love the chat! Colombia for me was very serendipitous! I didn’t have any expectations when I went to volunteer for 20 days in 2019. The people were beautiful , the energy was very vibrant and I felt an overwhelming amount of Love. I ended up staying for 3 months to teach English!
    🙌🏽💖🥳😎✨

  6. I love Medellin. People are great. Scenery is beautiful. But Italy for me. I did consider Portugal very seriously. Maybe in the future. For now….Moving in March from USA to Italy. So much to organize, prepare…. People don’t think of Orlando as a place to be alert. It is! NYC I lived. Love. To live, too expensive.
