This movie was put together from Stobe The Hobo’s Summer of 2016 Trip. There is nothing new here. All material was taken from Stobe’s individual episodes and edited into a single extended feature film as a tribute to James Stobie, and his traveling companion John “Wingman” Stone. All piano musical renditions are Mr. Stobie’s own and played by him.

You can see all of Hobo Stobe’s videos in full High Definition on his YouTube Channel here:

  1. Had a great time in Biloxi Mississippi with a Southern Bell on the beach by the Golf without pantaloons.

  2. Dam I love watching videos like this. Long a detailed. I was very excited to find this and apparently missed to first 2 seconds. I'm sad now. What happened to him? Very cool sarcastic dude

  3. What “hobo” drinks galiano?? He ain’t shit glad his dumb drunk ass got bodied. Shoestring the real deal. Quit drinking and does it SOBER. Drinking makes everything different and less boredom inducing. Fuck him. He goes home to his piano and shit and gets drunk AF and does nothing but wander around do nothing and drink. Big deal. Do it sober. See if it still for you. How you LITERALLY GET KILLED BY A FRIGGIN TRAIN!!!!! IN YOUR LATE 20s MAYBE 30. Drinking makes everything seem like I good idea. Your not yourself. Many of you have been drunk behind the wheel and thought let the cops pull me over I will whoop there ass😂😂😂!!

  4. Ime not gonna get run over by the train ime so trashed idk what’s going to happen next. 😂😂😂😂😂Lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Famous last words of a fake “ hobo” who descended into alcoholism. You thre your life away being dumb for nothing. Your parents are going thru torture cuz u couldn’t live in ur apartment not give up drink and do dumb shit on moving trains. You were a small child once. You just deceiided tobecome a hobo drunk trainhopper. You had a apartment. Drank Galindo and fine wine for gods sake. Cool ride trains be a hobo cool love and live your life. How about keep yourself alive for all the people that educated and sacrificed and loved you. Beyond tragic. My son got drunk and hit by a train…… dude that so unavoidable of a death it’s insane. Way to go bro. Your well spoken have things and you throw it away on alcohol and trying to be something your not. Your not a hobo or ever were.

  5. Nice compilation. The intermodal train is the highest. Manifest, coal & tanker trains are very low priority-130 miles in 20 hours.

  6. I had a very different experience in Cumberland back in the late 70's. I was busy stuffing my coat with newspaper while waiting for an eastbound to head into PA after being warned about a blizzard. A conductor pounded on the boxcar and told me to get out of it. He then invited me into the caboose, which I rode through shift changes warm and toasty. I got off in Findlay to head south.

  7. Thank you, I find what Stobe did was so American / Explorer and so calming to watch not to mention fantastic piano pieces

  8. As someone who enjoys trains and the outdoors, the freight-catching hobo lifestyle always seemed interesting.
Perhaps its just the freedom, lack of constraints, etc. But I too am just learning about Hobo Strobe and already miss him

  9. He had guts and a sense of humor but he littered everywhere he went, throwing his garbage and considerable empties in all those scenic places like the sort of selfish jerk he himself would’ve called out.
