Description:
11-22-18: It’s Thanksgiving!!! Happy Gobble Gobble day! Here is a video of a very spontaneous trip to Lone Pine, CA. I’m loving my 2 inch lift more and more, and this trip proves that it can really come in handy. There is a reason why I went with a 2 inch instead of a 1 inch or 1.5 inch. From all the adventuring and overlanding I’ve been doing, I knew +2 more inches were needed to put my SJ (2014-2018) Forester in a good place to tackle some trails.

  1. *Update* THE WOBBLE/SHUDDERING/VIBRATING UPON ACCELERATION HAS BEEN RECTIFIED!!!! Nate at Jim's AutoService in Crestline, CA added a CVT spacer insert to fix the problem. THE INSERT MADE SOME OTHER CHANGES. One thing I notice is that my H-CVT transmission seems much more connected, It literally feels like I'm putting more power to the wheels. I'll have to do some 0-60 tests to confirm this, just take everything I say with a grain of salt, I'm just an observer.

I also took the girlfriend and a friend with a stock height 2017 Forester 2.5 to the mines (2nd time for me). So this is for all you stock height guys! With careful spotting, we got my friend up to that mine cave. Also, my Forester XT had an easier time, and I think it might have something to do with the transmission spacer. I'll update you guys in the next video!

  2. How effective is the x drive ? there seems to be a lot of wheel spin. I tried an x3 on a minor cross axel, it performed worse than my hatch!

  3. Ive been thinking of getting a forester to get to these same spots! Mt. Whitney Portal looks magical. Ill take my Legacy up there any chance I can, but its way cool to see what is tucked back where my car cant get to. Thank you for the video!

  4. Love how the guys voice jumped up like 8 octaves and he sounds like a bitch. Is your brake on or something

  5. Just got a 2015 forester and I can't wait to pimp it up (offroad tires, lights, lift, etc…) I got a forester because not only does it have a good rep history but also for the MPGs. Yes there's the Toyota's and Jeep's but none have me the MPGs well except the new hybrid Rav4 that looks awesome but it's a bit pricey

  6. Sorry I love my XT. Its so fast on pavement. I like to keep my 30K car on clean roads. I use a real truck called a tundra to go in the woods

  7. How the lift been treating you? Was it worth it and if so or if not do you have any recommendations or regrets?

  8. JonDz where did she get her baddie decal on her Subaru?!?!? Best one I've seen so far! Want to put a black one on my white Sub!

  9. Hello, I have been following your channel I think since you started it, and I have enjoyed seeing how it has evolved. Would you be so kind as to do your best to answer a question for me? I have a 2015 Forester 2.0XT Touring low mileage that I bought a year ago to replace my 2013 gutless Crosstrek 5 speed manual. My off-roading will be done on my feet or my mountain bike, so the Forester just has to look good getting to trail head. On the Forest XT that you had, you were running Yokohama Geolandar's. I understand this will be a hard question to answer, but how much do you think those tires increased the road noise inside the car? Thank you for your help. Brian

  10. Considering going from my current 1inch lift to a 2 in lift on my 2015 Forester 2.5. I installed the 2 in lift and found that, when the suspension was at full droop, the tierod impact the sway bar when the steering wheel is turned around half lock. Did you have any issues with your sway bars or tie rods after the lift?

  11. You can see the difference between the cvt transmission and the 4eat transmission, the cvt locks up where as the 4eat does not hmmm interesting
