Today I’m taking you with me as I tour South Plains Mall here in my hometown of Lubbock, Texas. Indonesia and other places in Asia are wild about their malls, but here in America, it’s a different story. Due to the increase in online shopping and companies like Amazon, malls are slowly dying in America. I hope my mall can survive but tbh, it doesn’t look good. Only time will tell I guess.

Curious to hear what you think of the malls in America. What do you think malls like this could do to prevent them from closing their doors for good.

Due to high inflation and online shopping much customers don’t need to go to the mall I guess. Also I saw the big grocery in Lubbock sell a lot of stuff there (even cheaper maybe). I think big groceries like that could be competitive for malls. So I think malls aren’t primary for buying anymore. They should add social functions, like “jalan-jalan” and “lihat lihat”, like recreation places with cafétaria’s ,restaurants, artgallery, and upgrading the place with plants, bring back the fountain. The mall should be a chilling place like an indoor park with benches and room for children to play, where people can meet and do some “ngobrol”. And from “lihat-lihat”comes the buying right? Just letting my fantasy going here.
Most rich people stay rich by spending like the poor and investing without stopping then most poor people stay poor by spending like the rich yet not investing like the rich but impressing them
People's priorities has shifted because of digital/online progression, worldwide pandemic, economic changes, and of course, lifestyle reasons.
People now come to malls to enjoy specific bites, drinks (coffees !!) and a little bit of unique or particular light shopping. Gone are the days you want to carry shopping bags and boxes around a mall or huge department stores.
If you come to a (still) busy mall now, you will enjoy the many shops offering current lifestyle luxuries (sports, fragrances, travels, electronics, etc) and upgraded food & coffee joints.
Nick, can you walk to a Muslim location in Texas and see a mosque in Texas

Howdy, Nick. I've been watching this video without skipping those silly ads because you did a vlog upon our request about more Texas content that we need to know, especially for Asians. I'd love to see more.
Hahaha…. In Indonesia a lot of malls there temperature are cool on inside. But I think in Texas was heat on the inside 😂
TIL chick-fil-a is closed on sundays. I didn't know they are that religious 😂
Not the coffee & Jesus! #yeeyee
What you explained in big cities like jakarta and surabaya, a mall complex with evertyhing all at once is becoz.. the lack of lands.. plus the price of land is so expensive. They build vertically to make an efficiency. Contrary, you still got a huge land in texas there. A huge mall with enormous parking lot (which is easier to find parking) and you will not find a confusing level just like in indonesia : G (lower ground), G (ground), UG (upper ground), 1st fl, 2nd fl, 3rd fl.
Anyway, with a huge mall like that, i remember a zombie movie : dawn of the dead.
