Japan Travel: Feeling One with Nature at Kumobaike Pond in Karuizawa, Nagano 49 Moopon

Kyu-Karuizawa (旧軽井沢) a beautiful town in Nagano Prefecture, is located along the Nakasendo Route. It is the main center of the Karuizawa, a popular Japanese resort area. Blessed with an abundance area, Japanese visitors come here to unwind from the daily troubles of city life.

Among one of the more popular “natural” spots is Kumobaike Pond. This photogenic pond is located about 1.5 kilometers northwest of Karuizawa Station. A favorite spot to view autumn foliage, it is especially crowded from mid October to early November.
