It's hard to understand the scale of the Buddha but for some context, the small, golden Buddhas around the head are 6 feet tall.
Nara is more than just deer and Todaiji, Kofukuji, and Kasuga Taisha. If you have the chance, please visit Horyuji, the world's oldest wooden building and Japan's greatest treasure.
Another fantastic video! ❤❤❤
He look like bryan adams.

I can't speak English but let me say this Nice Smile!👍
Welcome to NARA!
I like Nara more than Kyoto.Because Nara is a mysterious atmosphere.
I went to Nara in 18times for 8years.
Please come again!!
17:09 Please don't use your umbrella like this. Maybe it's okay in your country, but pointing at something with an umbrella is very bad manners in Japan.
2:00 Sweet bean paste filling is the best. hehe 😂
There are sweet bean paste filling in mochi, taiyaki, imagawayaki, daifuku and so many other sweets, it's everywhere.
One of the famous sweet 'Akafuku mochi' is inside-out, using sweet bean paste as the wrapping and mochi as the filling.
0:55 ☕ I would love to recommend everyone to try out local coffee shops.
Japan has an amazing coffee culture. There are tons of local coffee shops and small coffee roasters. Many shops are with beautiful interior and good vibe. Some serves nice food too. Coffee shops are the gems of Japanese cities. It's a great rabbit hole to dive into.
It can be more challenging for traveler to go to local coffee shops. But it will be a great experience and memory besides the convenience store coffee. Convenience store coffee and Starbucks coffee are super popular among locals, too. But the small shops are worth your visit for sure. <(_ _)>
And if you visit a Japanese book store, there is a section with annual magazines introducing all the best coffee shops in different cities.
(x_x) 7:00 venison ice cream!!!! ಠ﹏ಠ oh.. just normal ice cream. 🍦🍦
The curry look amazing too. 🍛🍛 o((>ω< ))o
4:20 that little girl chasing after the deer is so cute!
Nice👍Video❤
How do you and your husband afford to travel full time?
If you are interested in ancient history, Nara is better than Kyoto. In the suburbs and residential areas, there are many graves of ancient ruling families and stone structures of unknown purpose. Because they are creations of an age without letters, you can rather enjoy the mystery.
Great Video guys! It's awesome Alan will try anything – even deer treats haha
Excellent filming, information, and editing, as usual ❤️ Gotta love Nara 🤗
Mugwort is like a medicinal plant. You can add it to a rice dish or salad. I have it growing in my backyard(Georgia). I think people in the US also ate it in colonial times. I have seen the plant in one garden in Williamsburg, VA.
almost all foreigners can't tell the difference between japanese old-style melody and china one. maybe nobody would be noticing the sound of china, at the very first beginning of this video.
it doesn't sound like japanese old-style, cause i am japanese.
Hi there! ✋Brandi & Alan.
Did you buy "大仏さまの鼻くそ [Buddha's booger]", "御神鹿のふん [The deity deer's droppings]" as souvenirs in 奈良 [NARA]?
"大仏さまの鼻くそ" is hardened with brown sugar.
So, it's an alkaline health food, isn't it?
The diameter is 7~8cm(=2.75”~3.15”), about JP¥350(=US$ 2.66).
"御神鹿のふん" is beans coated with chocolate. JP¥378(=US$ 2.87).
Both are "Joke candies / treats".
Please enjoy the deep of Japan.
Good-Luck. See you later. From Japan, thank you.
