Off the beaten path in Shizuka Prefecture in between Nagoya and Tokyo is a beautiful resort area with a small amusement park called Hamanako Pal Pal. In 2019 I took a trip to check out their top coaster called Mega Coaster.

Built by Japanese manufacturer Togo in 1997, this coaster shares similarities to the former Viper that called Six Flags Great Adventure home before being removed for El Toro. You can also see that the ride also features a similar heartline twist found on Ultra Twister coasters.

While not the smoothest coaster I’ve been on, it was rerideable as I took three laps on it during my visit.

The park features two other roller coasters, a log flume, a gondola ropeway to a nearby hillside crossing a lake and a small collection of other rides. The nearest train station is Hamamatsu Station just off the Tokaido Shinkansen. You would then need to take a 45 minute-long bus ride to get to the park.

I will be traveling back to Japan again in a few weeks and plan to check out some more parks and coasters. I plan to post more content during and after my travels so be sure to Like and Subscribe to the channel to see where I go!
