Thanks to the hard work and determination of Minister of Transportation and Public Development, Dario Herrera, in conjunction with key leaders among the expat community, President Guillermo Lasso visited Manta early in December to inaugurate the new terminal of the General Eloy Alfaro International Airport here in Manta City.
It was an exciting and emotional day for everyone not only because of the official opening of the new terminal, but because this was confirmation that the administration intends to deliver on their promises.
At multiple points during his speech to the crowd, which was televised nationally, President Lasso stated that the first international flights would begin as early as January of 2023 and that they would be connecting Manta to New York, New Jersey and Florida…in which order, we have yet to find out.
