The first motorcycle adventure of the new year saw me jumping on board my trusty Triumph Bonneville T120 for a spectacular light show from Mother Nature, then a reasonable light show from Blackpool council on the way home.
It was the second day of the new year and the first day in quite a while that was forecast for dry weather. So I wheeled out the Bonneville and set off for the Trough of Bowland in Lancashire. Although cold and damp, a few minutes by a stream with a warm cup of tea and then a great sunset made the ride worth the effort. Taking a detour on the way home to catch the last night of the Blackpool Illuminations was a nice added extra.
The day wasn’t without disaster though, I drowned my drone, one of my GoPro’s died and I somehow broke the screw mounting on the bottom of my camera; I’ll have to get all those things fixed before the next ride.

Just what I needed to make me look forward to bringing my Honda CB1100RS out of hibernation, hopefully in the not too distant future. Great video, beautiful photography, music and scenery. Looking forward to more this year.
Nice vid👍
I never tire of your excellent videos. I liked the bloopers at the end, after all we are just human and we all make mistakes. Lol. I like how you also include the sound of the bike accelerating. It's part of the experience imo.
Man I so much miss the elegance of the big Bonnie. Keep it until it falls apart! 😀
What I like about your vids is that you let the bike & journey do the talking.
Just extremely well done , time and time again. I applaud your skills.
Get you, Matt, and your fancy night-time videography! A delight to see something new so early in the year, when I know conditions haven't been great. At least days are getting longer, again, and maybe the rain will soon stop.
Well that’s my therapy for the end of a stressful day, marvellous 😊 thank you
Another great video my friend!
Congratulations on the work you do.
that was a awesome video, really enjoyed it
Can't wait to hit the road after this great vid.
Congrats
👍👍Two thumbs up for a warm beverage on a cold day and another great video!
well , you know how to pick your spots ;;
Long awaited vlog…
Once.againt some amazingly beautiful footage. Love the bloopers at the end. 🤣
Matt, another triumphantly stunning film, I love the variety of camera angles you choose, my particular favourite is bar end looking at rider, used sparingly as you do, it gives a real feeling of being in the moment. There are broadcasters cough Henry Cole cough who could learn a thing or two from watching your films.
And you took me to the Trough of Bowland and memories of cycling all over it when I was a student in Lancaster, before I discovered the joys of adding a motor to my two wheels, thank you, I must head north when Spring comes and revisit some of my old haunts. I'll put it on the 2023 bucket list along with persuading you and Freddie Dobbs to run the very occasional "Ride with the creator" Motocamping weekends.
Thank you for again for taking me out on your bike, in a beautiful part of the world, and giving me a break from hacking across London on a slightly to frequent for my expanding waistline Bike Shed Breakfast trip.
Nice one Matt another superb film great music as well
Beautiful film. Thanks for all the inspirational films over the last year. Here’s to 2023!

Excellent as always Matt.Ride safe this year.Pete.
The shot that starts at 5:25 is just perfect.
Amazing video Matt.
Your videos are pure energy. They are an inspiration to me..
Thank you for your time.
4:01 Silly boy, you left your camera behind!
Actually, I had to make a 90-mile trip in similar conditions last week, sun low in the sky and continually in my eyes, creeping through the gap between visor and "A" pillar, then flickering behind the trees and reflecting off everything in sight, the road, the other cars, even my car's bonnet. Horrible. I was so much happier when the Sun went down and I could just see everything properly. Of course, it was dark by then…
Superbe vidéo, merci. 🙏👍✌️
Hello Mat, first of all, I wish you a very happy new year, also to all your followers. beautiful video, as always… you have us accustomed to excellence. A big hug and a good year to all. Remember that I use a translator, it may not be possible to understand me. sorry.
Happy New Year Matt. You simply produce beautiful videos that are a joy to watch ! What a place to sit and have a cup of tea. Best wishes for 2023 and will look forward to many more to come. Cheers Dan
Yet again I found myself totally immersed in the video and it seemed to be over in a couple of minutes. The way you film them makes me feel/think it's me on the bike, or maybe wishing! I did a bit of sitting yesterday, Speed Twin, T120 and RE interceptor all next to each other. T120 felt like shaking hands with an old friend. 🤗 Great video again Matt.
