Heading into Osaka Castle is a pretty grand sight, what with the sweet steam train and all. It’s right in the middle of downtown Osaka, and is surrounded by skyscrapers on all sides. Even the castle itself isn’t very original, this incarnation being built sometime in the last 50 years.
Invaders of Osaka Castle would first have to power through a water moat, then fight the hordes of the garden, before reaching the inner moat, which was not filled with water. Presumably so they could see you before shooting arrows at you.
