Sunrise Express Izumo & Seto is Japan’s only overnight sleeper train which runs everyday.
Today I was able to book the most expensive private private room from Tokyo Station to Izumo City Station, a 950 KM 12-hour journey.
This private room is equipped with a washbasin and a desk so you can work during the journey.
Above all, the abundance of amenities is astonishing.
There are more amenities available than in a hotel, so there is nothing to worry about when travelling by sleeper train, and you have the peace of mind that you are staying in a hotel.
When you arrive in Izumo, you may wish to visit the famous Izumo Taisha shrine and eat the local speciality Wariko Soba.
