Welcome 2023!
After a wild ride in 2022, I’m really excited to see what 2023 has in store for me. In this video, I answer your questions that I asked over on my Instagram and Twitter, and we talk about all sorts of things: goals for the year, what big projects I have coming up, what I’m excited for, some gea-related stuff, travel related stuff, and of course, a bunch of questions about Japan.
Hope you enjoy this Q&A to start the year!

I gotta find a new βwhyβ for 2023. Thanks for the free motivation!
and I completely agree that video + photography is really difficult when Iβm out. It really just discourages me to do both. So Iβll just choose one to focus on when I go to a location.
Just wondering have you ever considered Leica to be your gear?
Two of my favourite things in one video
Pat & Japan !
Thank you for the insights man. I truly appreciate it.
Heading over for the whole of February to do some soul searching and re-explore Japan ππ»
Thank you brother!!!!! 15:39
I'm commenting to tell you that I really love POV street photography videos, it gives me inspiration and motivation, also I love to see what other photographers are interested in!
Thank you for answering my q! 23:27 ππ»ββI see that the people and environment you're with are crucial in maintaining consistency.
I really love your POV vids, I pick up a lot of ideas both in modelling and photography. I do hope you continue it π I would like to hear also about your processing in creating a video and quite interested also when you do both vlogging and photography. I am struggling a lot with it also π I was thinking that POV style is the best way to do it
Great insights bro. Keen to see more epic work this year. π
ILOVE the videos!! And will even pay more to see them if your thinking of not doing them
Might be that POV videos don't do so well, but for those os us, who are more experienced with the technical side of photography they are always interesting. I always find they help my own way of seeing. But they need to be edited, so all the uninteresting "walking" is cut out otherwise it's too easy to click on to the next video.
Absolutely love those pov videos
Happy new year, Pat! Iβd be super interested to watch a video about your experiences from when you lived in Japan before. Details on how you planned your travels, living, budgeting, basically how life was for you during that timeβ¦ Just a rando idea but I think it will be a great video! Thank you for the wholesome content, as always β¨
POVs should be interesting otherwise and unfortunately most are boring! Adding some educational factors would certainly make them interesting for me. I like to know why you shoot what you shoot. I like to know why you take that shot in portrait and the other in landscape, why you didn't shoot that subject alone, how do you work your background, foreground or just shoot base on where you find the subject, …! Wish a wonderful year ahead! π»
Loved the video Pat, as always. I was wondering if you had any regrets along your photography journey or anything specific that you would do differently if you could do it all again. Also, as a photography nerd, I love the POV videos as well!
The street POVs really arent my cup of tea, itβs not about you I just really more enjoy your talking head videos!
11:51 – spot on and thank you for the insights. We all decide for our own North Star and not let others discourage you for it.
No matter the gear you're using. Photography is about vision, as you said. π
Happy 2023!!!!! Great video , i only do fotogtaphy as a hobby but love your videos . Project in Antartica ??!!! that sounds amazing
