We had the pleasure of exploring the state’s largest city, Wichita, for a day, and truly enjoyed ourselves. From the delicious food to the beautiful art and history museums to taking part in America’s favorite pastime, we won’t be forgetting our time in Wichita anytime soon!

    It is entirely possible those people you saw in “costume” in Cowtown were Mennonites. Think Amish, however the ones in Kansas (there are a lot) can use some modern conveniences like cars.

    The best thing about Wichita is the two (2) Twin Peaks restaurants and a Hooters. I hear the Hooters has closed. 😞

    I love seeing people coming to Wichita the best times of the year to come is Halloween Old cow town has zombies and ghost, wicked island, and the Drury hotel aka the Broadview its suppose to be haunted. Juneish we have the river fest which is fun. places to try Doo dah dinner, Freddy's, and there is a fun 1940's themed bar under the ambassador hotel.

    Y'all should come in the late spring/early summer. There's so much more going on then. Riverfest, Final Friday with fire spinners and vendors in Old Town Square, a lot of live bands at bars and grills and a lot of food trucks

    You missed out. You walked right by the Eaton Place. Where in 1900 Carrie Nation got her start smashing up her first salon bar that was there under the name Carey House.

    I was born in Wesley hospital. Lived in Wichita till 1972. Dissaointed that I never saw a tornado. But I definitely enjoyed seeing all of the junk on top of the prairie village shopping center when we got back from Nebraska as we missed the 66 tornado that hit price grade school and our house by 1 mile.

    My goal is to get to all 50 states. I needed Texas and Kansas to complete the contiguous 48. To be honest, we were having a little trouble coming up with an itinerary for Kansas. Based solely on your experience, we went to Wichita and stayed in the same hotel you guys stayed. Perfect location! We really enjoyed our time there. Your video was very informative and helpful to us. Thank you!

    PS…we’re in WV. So glad you enjoyed your visit. Next time, come in October and go to Bridge Day in Fayetteville on the new river gorge.
