    Fun! We had a neighborhood firework show on our street near Lisbon…The Portuguese know how to celebrate the new year!! My first year in Lisbon I couldn't believe all the fireworks! My grocery store clerk told me tonight that her favorite New Year's is in Madeira!! Happy New Year and yes…Health is most important so I wish you that and happiness!!!

    Happy New Year to you to, the reason why not a lot of people don't congregate around the sea front, is because traditionally, families and friends go to each others houses on the best viewing points, and have a big party, unfortunately this year the weather didn't help, so all the smoke from the fireworks stayed low, therefore, a lot of people couldn't see most of it.

    What a lovely sweet video, we have quietly been following you guys for a couple of years now watching all the Madeira videos and some others lol as our dream was to live in Madeira we are now here on this beautiful island and have been here for 10 weeks still all very new as we have never been before we sold everything and moved lol. We didn’t get to Funchal this new year as we are based in Arco da Calheta at the moment we just need to know how things work a little more. Your video has given us a great insight for next year thank you so much for sharing and maybe we will see you some time on this beautiful little island we now call home 🏡
