Good stuff😀
Disney needs to be a little Unique and proper ly Themed and Details Do Matter. Doesn't need to be overly done, just Properly Done. 😉
Yeah, come on Disney: Re-themed WDW hotels should NEVER mean the same thing as un-themed and guests definitely know the difference.
4 years to finish Tron is absolutely ridiculous and I understand we had Covid but still the time before and after Covid it should have been finished for the 50th anniversary in October 2021.
I hope Tron Lightcycle Run Becomes The Grand Finale of The 50th Anniversary
Of course they’re bringing back the buffet. They can charge more for it than they can for family style.
Your spot said that the 50th anniversary grand finale merch was available on shop disney and it isn't. Where did you get this information as it's not true?!
The one thing I hate with the new hotel theming is no carpet in the rooms, you stay at the Polynesian the contemporary you get up and you have that cold floor and it looks terrible. You're correct back in the '70s when they started building these hotels there was nothing like the contemporary or the Polynesian, the Polynesian was one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed at and now they're changing it to where it looks generic inside they changed the lobby and took the beautiful fountain away just seems like Disney's wanting to cheapen everything they can. However as long as people keep paying the prices to stay at the hotels Disney's not going to change a thing I tried to book a club level room at the Contemporary or one at the Polynesian for early part of 2023 and they were sold out.
Europa park hotels are like what I imagined Disneys would be like but they are better than the new bland theming Disney do now. Other than Disney sea they are the only ones I would actually want to stay in
I guess it is cheaper for Disney to make modern plain hotels than grand themed hotels.
I stayed at the Contemporary in 1995. It was amazing. I don’t think they had built the Grand Floridian yet. At least I don’t remember it being there. So I think I was staying at their newest hotel.
Not sure Disney has noticed but they have made most deluxe category resorts unappealing by how generic they look. No reason to pay the overpriced rates now with many perks removed too. Sad.
Sotto is so right. The new decor in the rooms is boring, cold and tacky and cheap looking. Part of the fun staying at WDW was picking the room ambiance you wanted to stay in. Please stop ruining the character of the hotels. Fire those designers. Pray for the Grand Floridian lobby they already ruined the rooms by their timeshare makeovers.
p.s. if you want a more modern room go stay somewhere else, any hotel chain off property will give you that, thats not why people stayed at Disney property, the imagineering of the resorts was a big draw.
We didn’t get our magicbands that we paid actual money for in time for our trip last January, (never had an issue when they were free), so at the resort, we were given cards instead. Did they give us 50th anniversary cards despite only being 3 months into the celebration? No. They didn’t. That would be silly.
These designs are cheap. In looks and costs.
Grand Finale merch? With all the 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th merch, I was hoping for a 25th release.
I dont know if you guys have seen this video or not but go check out "Mickey FIRES Bob Chapek" from the channel The Warp Zone. It is AMAZING! You're gonna love it.
This all started with destroying the Polynesian lobby IMHO
Thank you for mentioning anything about the Tampa Bay Rays practicing their Spring train games at Walt Disney World
The fried chicken sandwich and the plant based offering at Cosmic Rays's are both really good… but man the new stuff looks bad lol
I don’t mind the IP in the hotels, I think it’s more magical for the families who are vacationing here. I truly think it’s us residents who really just complain wayyyy to much. There are more important things to complain to Disney about like the cleanliness of the parks and the price hikes.
The Poly was once one of the great hotels on earth. I vividly remember visiting it as a child, and the luau, etc. Every time I visit MK and take the ferry, it breaks my heart to see what's become of it.
I will stay at AKL, or Art of Animation for the themes of those hotels. I wouldn’t waste my time on a generic hotel, even if it’s on Disney property. There was a time when Disney did it better, that time is slowly fading away. It’s not that I don’t like Disney, it’s just that they’re not doing the extras that set them apart from other entities, theme park and/or hotel. 🤷😎🌴
I miss the Earful Tower. It is a shame it was not saved. Disney is in danger of loosing it's Brand Style Identity!
These are modern engineers. No imagineering. They're focus is pleasing penny pinchers and Twitter. The world is worse place because we cater to them. Instead of greasing the squeaky wheel it should be replaced
Bob iger need to have inigineers that can bring the art back to the hotel s I don't like modern plain room s please keep the Disney magic at the Disney hotels
Just MAYBE they might work on TRAMS in ALL park parking lots. Of course 4 years without the attraction Walt cared most about, kind of shows the loons running this mess
The 🚂 is back
Disney is creatively bankrupt! This is what you get when you don't hire the best people for the job!
im so excited for the Disney company centennial next year!
DEFINITELY too generic!! Some completely unimaginative person is designing these!!
All this talk about the hotels being too generic and basically another Hilton or Marriott… But not one mention of the Galactic Cruiser and it's struggles to be booked solid. I see those as the extremes, right? You have the ultimate in theming that immerses you in the story or you have the plain hotel. Plain hotels get booked and the total immersion struggles. I can see why they might not spend so much on making hotels unique. Getting that right balance is a struggle but people vote with their feet. I trust there'll be touches, just not sure the full immersion is what the masses are looking for, yet.
PLUS that Horror going up by the Polynesian! 😱
Wanted to announce that some of the 2 bdrm villas at BR have been completed, checking out today from Mon (rm 4512 – even number so wilderness view as opposed to Bay Lake)…aside from some quirks, they're lovely and BRIGHT combining the very best from CCV and of course the charm from BRV!
There really isn’t much of a draw to the resort like there used to be. Too many changes that take away the magic—you can update and modernize without being so plain and generic.
I think the way Disney stores being genericized is just as awful. We were told refurbishing store interiors at the parks were to be simpler to navigate but honestly if I do to mouse gear at Epcot or the world of Disney at Disney springs, I expect theming and fun. Something to remember. It’s like taking an old mall-based Disney Store of yore and turning it into a shoe carnival but with Disney product. I want story and fun when I visit a Disney based entity. The Grand Floridian had a story and theme. Etc. Etc. I’ll step down now.
I really like the Frozen theme for the splash pad. It's an area for kids, kids love Frozen, it's a Disney water park, I have nothing to complain about.
The resort rethemes however… what a waste of money. Should of left everything alone! In a time where money spending is so critical that is the worst way they could be spending money
Now Disney needs to bring back the old opening show for the Magic Kingdom, where they wouldn’t let you into the park, until the characters came in on the train.

Happy to see former Imagineers criticizing these terrible, soulless, new hotels at WDW. They are an insult to the creativity that used to be the cornerstone of the Walt Disney Company.
It would be awesome if WDW could set up an LGBTQ+ plus hotel where children could be exposed to Mickey Mouse, Pluto, and Peter Pan in drag.
Disney hotels are just "NORMAL" nothing "fun" anymore.
It's sickening what they are doing to their hotels. I swear I could run their company better! It's almost like the company is being ran into the ground on purpose. *smh
Disney has been run into the ground by woke executives who’s only concern is pandering to the mentally ill alphabets rather than focus like Walt on giving us an experience , free of the politics. A damn shame.
I completely agree! Minimalism, plainness, clean lines, modernism, following the crowd… whatever you want to call it… is the exact opposite of imagination! Why bother wasting your money on something different, when it's no longer different? Might as well stay at the Motel 6 down the street, where it's exactly the same, and save some money! I used to spend a fortune staying on Disney properties. Don't bother anymore… no imagination! I've been waiting years to eat at the Victoria and Albert, but after I've seen how they've changed it to a more modern vibe, why bother? If it ain't Victorian, it ain't what they're promoting! I think that's also called bait and switch! No thanks.
they don't have any imagineers left. They have designers and architects, but totally lacking in imagination.
I liked Disney Hotels when they were themed to be warm and relaxing.
Nice warm lighting, relaxing furniture and homey vibes.
The newer hotels feel like a corporate meeting office of loathing.
The new lobbies aren’t relaxing, but cold and cynical.
I don’t like corporate meetings, why would I want to stay in a hotel that seems to be themed after one?
I must be the only person that watches your show and likes the incredibles rooms lol.
What's the point of staying in a WDW hotel? They don't look that different from a Marriott, but they cost way more. You still pay parking, you pay for a Magic Band, and you have to get up so early to get in for the hotel hours. I don't think it will be worth it for my family next year when we go.
