We spent 5 days exploring Kyoto during the peak autumn season! So with fall in full swing, we decided to vlog a little city tour and show you some of the best things to do in our guide to Kyoto! (Definitely not all of them though, there are SO many amazing spots here!!)
The first time we visited Kyoto, we stayed in a location that was not ideal for sightseeing and our limited schedule didn’t really allow us to experience the best of what Kyoto has to offer! This time was such an amazing experience!

1. Visited Okazaki-Jinja, also known as Kyoto’s cutest shrine!
2. Rode the Randen train
3. Explored the Arashiyama neighborhood
4. Tried some of Kyoto’s unique snacks!
5. Visited the Tenryu-Ji temple complex
6. Explored the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove
7. Visited the Nonomiya Shrine
8. Took in the views of Kyoto at the Katsura River
9. Walked on the historic Togetsu Kyo Bridge
10. Saw wild Japanese monkeys and cityscape views at the Arashiyama Monkey Park Iwatayama
11. Walked the Keage Incline
12. Explored the massive Nanzen-Ji Temple Complex
13. Visited the popular Suirokaku Aqueduct
14. Tried Japanese cuisine (we got yakiniku!)
15. Visited the Fushimi Inari Market for souvenirs and food!
16. Hiked the Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine!
17. Visited Teramachi Street for tons of shrines and some Buddhist souvenirs
18. Explored Nishiki Market, the culinary center of Kyoto
19. Explored the Gion District (Yasaka Pagoda & Ichenen-zaka, Sannenzaka, & Ninenzaka Streets)
20. Visited the Chion-In (if in fall, for the Autumn Nights Illumination Event)
