Verona 🇮🇹 Brompton & Camping Escape: Train Chaos & Delays | EuroVelo 8 | S1-E2

Its july 2022 and I have decided to go on a bikepacking trip across europe with a six speed brompton loaded with camping gear. Not knowing what to expect I chose Eurovelo 8 Mediterranean Route as my first long distance bike route, that should lead me along the breezy Mediterranean sea.

I hope you come with me on this bikepacking journey through one of the most beautiful bike routes in europe.

In this video I go through the rest of the first day, train hopping from Munich to Verona, dealing with train conductors and hoping I get to final destination with invalid seat reservation in time before midnight without being kick out from the train. Once in Verona, I decied to test Italian McDonaldds triple bacon burger menu for whooping 14 EUR as a reward for the struggles. Fed and partially rested, I took a bike route from Verona to Lake la Garda since I needed to find a stealth camping spot for the night. At 1:30am I got lucky and found a nice safe place to sleep. It was a challeging day and I am glad I made it.

EuroVelo 8 (EV8), named the Mediterranean Route, is a 7,560 km long EuroVelo long-distance cycling route running from Cadiz, Spain to Athens, Greece, and then continuing to İzmir, Turkey and to the island of Cyprus.
