Saikokuji Temple is located in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. According to temple records, it was built between 729 and 749. A fire destroyed most of it in 1066, but it was rebuilt in 1081. It was destroyed by fire again between 1375 and 1378, but was rebuilt in 1386. The three-storied pagoda was built in 1429.
