Join me on a stroll through Iizaka Onsen. Just 20 minutes from Fukushima station, this traditional hot spring town features a variety of eateries and nostalgic shops. Iizaka is home to over 40 traditional ryokans (Japanese-style inns), and 9 public baths, and 3 foot-baths. The temperature of the hot springs is slightly higher than normal, at around 42Β°C (107.6Β°F).

Woww
Japan, We love it there!!!!
Japan is so clean!!!
Awesome job chris
I thought you said, "pawn shop" not pan shop, lol
Nice Video Chris! My friend who is from Japan has been to Iizaka Onsen and went to the Japanese Bread shop that you went to. It's called the Watanabe Bakery. When will you do more Onsen or ryokans reviews? I really enjoy them!
Japan is my favourite and it's the best Japan
Isn't Fukushima radioactive now since the reactor melted down?
I needed some nice Japan exploration.
My original plans for vacation these holidays to Orlando Disney for New Years got cancelled, so this helps make it not so bad
You are everywhere, my girlfriend lives in Fukushima, and we go here once in while, we like the one Onsen called 倧ι³₯, I believe.
Fukushima and Aizu are so underrated, hope the tourists never discover this placeβ¦
Hi Chris. Thanks for the onsen video. Never tried the public bath before. I was sort of shy at first, but once you try iit's an awesome feeling. enjoy the onsen at the hotel, but the ones in the countryside are more enjoyable. I love the outdoor ones in the mountains with a view of the area. It's a wonderful way to relax after a exciting day of exploring. Take care.
That is one cool historic town! Nothing is more soothing than walking around the town for the day and then relaxing your feet in the free foot baths!
How hard is it to get by in Japan if one doesnβt speak or read Japanese?
Iβm not an expert, but my girlfriend explained to me that a lot of the Ryokans along then river were severely damaged in the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and a few never reopened and lay abandoned. Add to that the dwindling population in these smaller towns the area has seen a slow decline. Towns in this area like Kiti Kata and Yonezawa feel like ghost towns.
I love Fukushima Gyoza and thought these shops were run by Chinese immigrants as dumplings are their cuisine, but my girlfriend explained to me that during WW2 a lot of Japanese from this area were stationed or lived in Manchuria and brought this cuisine back after the war. Iβm not an expert though.
