Mr Kernel, Ep.1 – Southern Sunshine Coast: Caloundra Air Museum, Pelican Waters, Golden Beach

Once upon a time, there was Mister Kernel – Saydulla Madaminov, the former Chief of the Uzbekistan Air and Air Defence Forces who sent his youngest son to go explore Australia back in 2012. Now, it’s been 10 years since then. Mister Kernel is well and truly retired from all the aviation works and decided to go visit Australia for the first time ever, and to visit his son who’s been living in Queensland.

This is the first episode of the series on Mister Kernel, where he arrives in Brisbane after a long trip, jetlags for the first a few weeks and then finally goes on his first trip, to the Southern Sunshine Coast region.
There, he explores the famous Queensland Air Museum in Caloundra, checking out the planes on display such as F-111, Douglas DC-3, Spitfire, Lockheed P-3 Orion, Grumman S-2 Tracker, Dassault Mirage, F-86 Sabre, and a bunch of other interesting-looking planes, but most importantly, he discovers his younghood plane which he used to fly in back in the days for the Soviet Air Force – MiG-15. He finds the Queensland Air Museum experience very refreshing as he hasn’t been in the aviation for a few years now.

Mr Kernel, then, also goes shopping at Woolworths in Pelican Waters, enjoys a cigarette at Keith Hill Park next to some cool-looking tree on Pelican Waters Esplanade, and then he continues onto the Golden Beach, where he finds the Military Jetty, the Golden Beach lighthouse and he finishes up the day 1 of the Southern Sunshine Coast trip by visiting the Caloundra Kmart to buy a cap and some thongs, which instead end up being slippers – all in preparation for 2 more days to explore the Southern Sunshine Coast region.
Finally, Mister Kernel, tries a lychee for the first time in his life and totally falls in love with it!

His son accompanies and supports him all the way through.
