  1. Thanks for the video Gary! Where can I purchase your tee that you have on? Do you have them for sale?

  2. Great video Gary. We always order 3-4 appetizers, 2-3 entrees and 2-3 desserts between the two of us and share. Every cruise line has been more than willing to oblige us. In addition, I like to walk through the buffet occasionally to see if there are items that I would like to try. Yes, I am a foodie and a cruise line offers the best opportunity to try dishes that were offered in the past in fine restaurants like escargot, carpaccio, and baked Alaska. On Carnival, all of my waiters were Filipinos. Since I managed a BPO center in Manila, I jokingly said, "when are we going to have adobo (the national dish of the Philippines)? On the last night, they brought us a couple of plates from the crew mess.

  3. This is really great freebee info. I wonder about the pillows, if cruise lines carry any more firm pillows like memory foam pillows?

  4. Thanks for all your valuable information. Could you give me guideline on paying tips to room services? Thank you.

  5. Captain’s free cocktail party has been killed by Covid, at least on Holland and Carnival, instead you get a voucher for a free drink after 5 pm on the last day of the cruise. I also think it’s only for those who have reached a certain level due to number sailing days. Results vary, consult your cruise line.

  6. Does Princess charge for the cabin refrigerator's preloaded items? I want all the booze in my refrigerator removed and replaced with Coke or Pepsi soda. What's the cheapest way to have this done? The last time I asked my cabin steward to do this for me, it was a 3-ring circus trying to have someone else simply replace the alcohol with soda/Coke or Pepsi. Would it be less expensive to preorder the soda package and just make the switch myself and not use anything from the prepacked refrigerator items?

  7. I discovered a free service on a recent cruise that goes to your point, no matter what happens, ask.
The sole on my daily wear shoes had come unglued, with nearly have the sole flopping about. Trying an earlier recommendation I asked my cabin steward if he knew any members of the maintenance crew that might have some glue I could use and he referred me to guest services that had a standard waiver for making repairs. After signing off that I would not hold them accountable for making things worse they took my shoe and it was delivered to my room the next morning looking new for no charge.

  8. We went out of our way to tell the travel agent, room steward, servers, etc that we were cruising for our anniversary AND daughters birthday AND both daughters college graduation. Nothing. The room stewards made a zoo of towel animals on her bed though. 🙂

  9. I am going on a 7 day Caribean cruise in a few days and am very grateful for all the tips. I will be thinking of you.

  10. Something I haven't heard you mention yet is MAKE SURE THE CRUISE LINE YOU CHOOSE SERVES A VARIETY OF MEALS!!!! The one and only cruise my husband and I went on only served Italian food and neither of us like Italian food. He had to eat because he was a brittle diabetic ( he passed 12 years ago) and had to take insulin which meant he had to eat. I am probably one of only a few that lost weight on a cruise and I couldn't really afford to lose weigh. I asked if they could just make simple spaghetti and was told no that all the food was set for the number of people on the cruise and meal plans had been made. On one of the land excursions we took there was small town and the first thing my husband did was find a small restaurant that had a menu. He ordered me an enormous cheese burger. The waitress looked at me and asked if we wanted an extra plate to share the cheese burger and he told her no my wife is starving because her stomach can't handle Italian food. She needs to eat NOW. After she turned in the order, he placed his order. This is how critical it got. We never took another cruise. Sad but absolutely true.

  11. Cruise tap water is filtered. Don't worry about bottle water. Save the plastic and save your money.

  12. 'Free drinks' is such a good one. I meet so many people who don't realise which cruise lines will offer vouchers at various points of the cruise (like P&O on Celebration night), and also people who don't realise that they can take alcohol to their cabin, then get stung for expensive bottles of wine to the cabin.

This was such an interesting video!

  13. I have loved to be there when you told the crew member you’d forgotten your comb and would they have a freebie for you. 😂😂😂😂

  14. P&O Iona made no effort when I informed them of my mother’s birthday on the ship. They just charged her for a birthday cake and definitely no song or dance. Not impressed and made no effort to make it a special occasion for her and her friends onboard.

  15. Yes postcards are free but you pay postage- however none of the cards I’ve ever posted from the QM2 have arrived…. Very mysterious.
