ℹ️ About the Episode:
This is the last installment of the adventure cross-country bike adventure mini-series from Michigan to Florida. After 16 days, the crew started to find a rhythm. What was once difficult started to seem easy, or at least easier. Perhaps that’s why sticking with it (no matter what “it” is) is so important. Everything is difficult at first. Once the hard part is behind you, the enjoyment starts to show itself—but only to those who put in the effort. This is true of anything, but especially RVing. In this episode, we share days 11 to 16. Marc & Caleb were at a low point on day 11, but luckily that only lasted the first half of the day and they rallied. Each day thereafter, they were stronger than the next, picking up speed and making it to the lunch spot a bit earlier each day. Ultimately, they made it to Bill-E’s Cafe in Fairhope, AL. It’s not only a great Harvest Hosts location, but a source for some mighty fine bacon that can be shipped right to your house. Bill & Wendi share their impromptu thoughts on the Grech RV van and how Wendi truly did go from “Zero to Hero”—from no RV experience to a proficient solo RV traveler.

  1. You made it! Hooray! Now let’s head to Arizona. I’m boondocking at the beach till after Christmas then heading to quartzite.

  2. Loved the series. It was so cool to see Caleb do well since I remember when you were biking to some capitol and it had a hill and Marc said Caleb would have some excuse as to why he didn't make it, and he was right. So fun to see him grow up and enjoy the adventure. Nice job Tricia and Wendy. As Caleb said you are super mom's but way more than that. Congrats to all and to Marc, I think "suffering is always better with friends" as well.

  3. It was amazing! Watching you and following the ups and downs. It’s definitely a once in a lifetime experience. What is even more amazing is that Caleb has done much in his life before has even reached college. The experiences for him will last beyond your life. 😊

  4. Its the company and the friendship that makes is all worthwhile. Tears in my eyes as you all complete this journey.

  5. It is so satisfying when you complete an epic journey. Great video series guys. Thank you so much for taking all of us along with you.

  6. SO much of the good stuff! I wrote all of this in my journal because it's that good!!!

    19:48 Trish: "You put in work, and somehow it starts clicking in your brain, and things get a little bit easier. And you're wondering how is it that I'm doing the same amount of work, maybe even more, but it feels better."
    =======
    The whole section from 26:16 to 26:50 from Marc and Bill:
    Marc: "You know I know this sounds cliche', but the journey really is better than the destination. And you know what, maybe Bill has a point to all of this suffering."

    Bill: "I think there's something really awesome about suffering because that's what you remember."

    Marc: "The fact is, the moments we suffered through, the cold moments, the mistakes we made, the dips in the road, those are, really, looking back, some of the aspects of this adventure that we're most proud of. But I will say, and I said this to Bill on the ride, suffering is better as a memory."
    =======
    27:30 Caleb about Charlie: "He's still not happy dad, he's just less unhappy."
    =======
    The sum up at the end was perfect. You really put out an amazing piece of content. I really enjoyed watching this 3 video series and I know I will be watching again in the future =)

  7. Thank you for taking us along. I can't but thru your trip I feel your adventure.rooting for ya guys

  8. We salute you! Congratulations!! We have been with you since the beginning. You guys continue to inspire us. Absolutely amazing. Because of you guys we started a YouTube channel and share our adventures. We are mountain bikers, we know what you did was beyond amazing. Stan and Rhonda ❤

  9. Merry Christmas ~ thanks for all the fun we are having vacariously through your travels. We'll be back on the road soon & can't wait to run into you out west. Hopefully.

  10. I wish I knew you were going to be at Foscue in Demopolis Alabama I used to work Police Department at Demopolis in the early 70's where i met my wife 45 years ago, then Sumter County, Greene County, retired out of Hale County where I live now but I would like to have met you all I've been following you for a long time

  11. As a redhead who has had two types of skin cancer…. I was wondering how many gallons of sunscreen you used on the trip? My dermatologist told me several years ago to stay out of the sun. The best two hours of the day are generally the last two before sunset for me, I can go out and have fun and not really worry.

  12. Iam sooooo mad that you get to do what I have dreamed about…not the bike ride but the RVing. I have watched your channel long enough to pick up some really good tips and advice…I am a veteran that will hopefully retire in a couple of years than 30 days on the road, come home for a while and back on the road…all done with things I have learned from yous guys…no I'm not from the UP I'm a dairy land guy… looking forward to our season to hit the road, even got my lifetime America the beautiful pass…looking forward to your next video

  13. The longest of journeys are shortened with the best of friends. Thanks for taking us along. It was delicious to watch!

  14. Thank you. I truly enjoyed the trip. The girls made it possible.
    Thanks again for sharing great family content but kind of miss the bird rv.

  15. Kudos to all of you, what an epic experience! My husband and I are cyclists and totally understand how hard it is to ride those kind of mileage and elevations, you guys are truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing your life story! Cheers, Jennie 👧🏻

  16. Congratulations on your adventure. We did something similar this summer. Our son hiked the Continetial Divide to earning his Triple Crown by completing the entire Applachain in 2018, Pacific Crest in 2021 and now 2022 the CDT. We were able to shadow along this year and stayed within an hour or so of him. He was able to come in about once a week and rest a day, and wash. It was a fantastic experience for us. We met many great hikers along the way. April 21 to mid Sept. 3,000 miles.

  17. Will Bill and Wendi continue to RV? I hope to see you all together on another adventure!

  18. This was one of one of the best videos! I think everyone was a Hero in this. The guys for taking the adventure of over 1300 miles, and not only completing it, but without any major issues!👌… The ladies, huge part, in being there in every stop, having lunches, etc, support, that was great! Bravo 👏…. Keep up the great videos..

  19. Next time you go to or from Saint Pete you should visit Yankeetown (just north of Crystal River). Old Florida and site of 1961 Elvis movie, FOLLOW THAT DREAM.

  20. I’m shocked to see airstream designs their trailers with the doors opening away from forward motion. I’m thinking if that latch was to ever give out at 70 miles an hour the door is coming off the hinges really fast.
