  1. The tour around kl (market etc) is just for the tourist. Average Malaysian these days shops at their supermaket (aeon, giant, tesco, mydin, jaya grocer etc). Majority of Malaysian don't stay in central kl (more expats or foreign workers)

Ps: the prawn paste you have to mix it well with the asam laksa soup. Similar to the sambal given to nyonya laksa. Make sure to mix it well

  2. Can you say that the Chili Crab at Chow Kit is better than the best Chili crab in Singapore?

  3. Anyone that says S’pore food is better than M’sian or vice versa is going around with blinkers. The absolute best part of living in this part of the world is the amazing ease of access to the endless variety of eye-catching, aroma rich, mouth-watering and delicious foods. From the most basic and simple Roti, Nasi Lemak, or noodle dishes to the more grander and elaborate preparations, each have a place in satisfying our appetite.
Videos like this take us on a whirlwind tour to places that we individually will not have the time or opportunity(I now live in Canada)to personally visit. Thanks to Ghib and the many other YouTubers for sharing their experiences with us👍👍😄

  4. Informative content as always !
As in your previous video with Ichang, Singapore and Malaysia food intertwined that we cannot ravel.

Indeed I find Malaysia nostalgia and authentic after many years you can still find the same stall unlike we at Singapore that along the way the stall change hands or location frequently it lost its charm and sometimes the taste.

Both country have it’s strength and weakness.

  5. When i flew into KL i checked into Wanjo first before our Hotel…My msian relatives like the mee siam with Gravy from Toast Box….they say JB mostly only have dry version

  6. Merry Christmas to you and your wife and your in-laws. May you have a good New Year. Looking forward to your next videos.

  7. No need to compare. There will always be better tasting food on either side of the causeway, even Nasi Lemak. The food culture is similar. Perhaps only prices.

  8. In my honest opinion, I think what was said about "if we really explore", we can find good food in every country. The differences about SG vs MY is the level of regulation on ingredients and health consciousness of each country. Definitely need to travel off beaten path to really enjoy the local culture and taste.

  9. Welcome to KL Ghib Oji San , glad you & Yr wife enjoyed staycation at fame Chow Kit hotel & exploring surrounding areas. Please do visit Penang Pearl of the Orient 🥰🤩

  10. im amazed Ghib has been living in SG for so long and dont know about begidil. even the wife sounds annoyed lol. abang Ghib, time to try various SG malay food instead.

  11. Wanjo? That place is so overrated.

Went there and was so disappointed by the nasi lemak. Prefer tanglin more.

  12. Yes overall most people prefers Msian food especially for those who likes heavier taste is becos of the complexity of the cooking. Therefore the taste is more robust compared to SG. For those who likes simple, light and healthier taste will prefer SG food.

  13. The prawn paste should be mixed with the laksa gravy ,not for dipping because of its strong flavour. Prawn paste is called 'Heh Ko' in Hokkien

  14. Only a Japanese food enthusiast can taste the difference between 2 countries 😂😅…. You've tasted more places than I have in 30 years 👍💪

  15. This is your to eat list in KL:
Malay food – ikan patin tempoyak, pari Asam pedas, nasi kerabu, nasi Ayam kunyit, mee jawa, Ramly burger; Chinese food – Yong tau foo (Jalan Ipoh), Hokkien mee (Chinatown), claypot chicken (Chinatown), hainanese chicken, Hakka mee with Char siew (toast and roast PJ); Indian food – banana leaf rice (Kanna PJ), Mozzarella cheese naan, sup ekor mamak; desserts – durian cendol, sirap bandung, Sangkaya coconut ice-cream.

Also, you need to try Family Mart in Malaysia, it's another level of innovation. A must try: Satay oden, tomyam oden, garlic mayo onigiri, mala chicken onigiri, and the weird sotofu ice cream flavours they served.

  16. Some of the place i didnt really sure if its really popular among locals and would not suggest chow kit as a food places to go, but glad you enjoy the experience. But for wanjo it is a really popular one for nasi lemak.

  17. You made everything looked so delicious…If only you can pass over some food over via this channel…LOL

  18. JB has SOGO as well at MidValley Southkey , Singapore used to have SOGO

  19. It is surprising tjat Ghib didn't know potato patties and that the prawn paste I s to add in penang laksa. Wife and mother in law didn't show him enough around in Singapore.

  20. Malaysia have many types of laksa and it taste different..nyonya curry laksa,laksa utara,penang asam laksa,laksa siam,laksa johor(using spaghetti)laksa sarawak(aromatic broth),laksa kelantan n terengganu(got coconut milk),laksa mee pangkor

  21. @Ghib I am truly disappointed that you promoted the Chillie Pan Mee at Kin Kin Restaurant. I went to try it today after watching your video and cannot regret enough for doing so. The place was packed when I got there which raised my expectations. However, the chillie pan mee at this restaurant has to be one of the worst I have ever eaten in my life. To start with, the service was truly awful. When I ordered a Coke, the owner told me that he was too busy to serve me – you hear that right – and that I would have to fetch it from the fridge myself. I ordered a Chillie Pan Mee and a fishball soup. The fishball soup was acceptable. The Pan Mee however, was just rubbish. There was very little anchovies and minced meat in the bowl and everything tasted very bland. I took two bites and gave up. Although, I do notice that you did not expressly effuse praises for this restaurant, the fact that you included it in your video and did not say anything negative about it, is at the very least tacit promotion of the restaurant. Let me do your viewers a favour – steer clear of this restaurant. It has one of the worst chillie pan mee in the city, and a truly awful service from its owner to boot.

  22. I am sure Singaporean favourite in Malaysia if not why Singaporean alway go to Malaysia eat foods because the smell come from there…😂😂
