さようなら中田島砂丘
2017年の正月、中田島砂丘で小さな杭を見つけた。すぐにそれが防潮堤建設にともなうものだと気づくと同時に、思っていた以上に海側にあることに驚いた。
「風景が変わってしまう」
せめて写真に残そうと中田島砂丘へ足を運ぶなか、真冬の砂丘に独りで訪れる若い女性たちの姿を度々目にした。悩みや悲しい思いを抱えていると思われるその佇まいと、消失していく中田島砂丘の風景が私の中で重なった。
浜松を代表する風景が失われていく悲しさを、女性のポートレートに託している。
At New Year’s 2017, I found a small pile used for surveying to be done before the real breakwater construction.
I think, “The important landscape might be changed greatly.”
While visiting Nakatajima Dunes with the feeling that I wanted to at least leave the scenes behind in a form of photographs, I saw several times young women who came to the mid-winter dunes alone. Their appearance of seemingly holding suffering and sorrow overlapped in my mind with the landscape of disappearing Nakatajima Dunes.
I place in the portrait of women the sorrow of losing the landscape, which represents Hamamatsu city, and the contradiction of destroying the place for nurturing life to save a life.
