Hi there! My name is Kevin and today we are going to take a look the full Gulf Air experience on one of their most prominent routes. We will take a look at the Air France/KLM Lounge in Bangkok, the full terminal and airport experience, check out the aircraft and seat in detail, speak about the incredibly aggressive and rude service and explore the laughable food on offer. Of course, we will wrap it all up with The Flip Flop Score.

This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that’s the way I like it!

  1. It’s one thing to ask you not to film other people on the plane , but to treat you like a badly behaved brat shows he’s some kind of psychopath- I just checked how much those 2 flights cost you…😢…thx for the warning about the totally erratic nature of Gulf Air – I already saw your other , much better review of your following flight .. it proves that they CAN treat passengers who spend lots of money to fly them , as they should…
Your narrative about never wanting to get arrested is ringing around in my head – -that arsehole purser knows he will always have the upper hand , even though you’re shelling out a huge amount of money for a pile of SHITE of a product .. well done for keeping your cool . 🙏.. Happy 2023 to you Kevin .🎉

  2. sounds like you had a purser that was on a power trip. Or perhaps one of his flights was filmed before and he got in trouble for bad service, idk. Overall sounds awful but at least your were ontime. That is worth a lot today!

  3. My experience with Gulf is VASTLY different, even in economy. However i feel the never again is a bit harsh because of one person. You praised many things

1 person does not represent the whole team

  4. Come to Novogrudok . Use bus number 6 at 8.00 in the morning full of grandmothers. You will have the best trip in your life . Trust me .

  5. It's very disappointing. It's Sign when rich became poor. It happened with Gulf Air, they abandoned by other cousin brother countries.
    Sad

  6. Your final ratings are still quite generous given your experience, and the hostile behavior, length of service and filth of the service items are all totally inacceptable and unseen in world-class airlines. You should write a formal complaint to the airline and seek some form of compensation, so that at least that purser's inexcusable behavior attracts some attention from the management. I wonder why you didn't ask for another set of headphones, pillow, blanket and crockery or reacted when you were served colored water instead of coffee, even if chances are the replacement would have been dirty just the same. Conversely, that could also have helped balance out your control over the situation, given the fact you were basically treated like the bad person, because rightfully complaining about such indisputable flaws on the airline's part could have forced the purser to tone down his ways a bit. I experienced the same type of contempt by a ground staff member at BAH airport years ago, and thus I can't help but think you were also given the kuffar treatment which seems to be a potential pattern there (other friends also experienced it). Knowing that some strict muslims follow hadiths forbidding photographs/images, I tend to think you might have unknowingly rubbed the purser the wrong way with the camera on at boarding and while this is really no excuse for his vulgarity, it might just explain the shamelessly disrespectful attitude from the get-go (still unacceptable!). That said, there is no prohibition taking pictures at the airports in Thailand, and such restrictions applied most notably in some Arab countries and in the communist block an era ago, but are quite unheard of these days. Also, anything branded with a "boutique" label shakes a red flag in my mind. It usually only means the institution wants a chic image but doesn't quite have the budget, hardware or software to match. To conclude, I'll stick to my memory of the old Gulf Air experience from the past, thank you for the report!

  7. Did Scoot put you on this flight as your flight was cancelled or did they refund you and you bought anothwer ticket? If the former you did well as price diff would be great and Gulf maybe not perfect but Scootbiz not good at all over 2 hour flights.

  8. Used to fly the same leg then continued from BAH to Rome. My experience was mixed but again it very depends on the crew so quality control in the airline is really the thing that is missing.

  9. I concur with your assessment of Gulf Airlines. I have flown with on Gulf Airlines roughly 20-25 times over the years. On my recent return flight from the Philippines to Bahrain earlier this month I was asked if I had alcohol in a gatorade bottle that I had purchased near our boarding gate simply because I requested a cup of ice because my gatorade had gotten warm. I found that to be very disrespectful. Also the onboard meals are absolutely horrendous to say the least. Plus our flight was delayed by 4 hours, then we sat on the plane with no explanation from the staff and no aircon. I will never flight Gulf Airlines again.

  10. Way back 2014 a flight attendant of Gulf Air just accidentally poured the hot tea on my lap …and she was shocked she just said “oh no are you ok?” At first i told her nothing to worry and ill be fine ,since i was thinking that she was really nervous that time .. but the bad thing is she never apologize, never gave me any blanket to wipe my wet stinky pants or none of the crew got a brains to check me out… i was waiting for them what to do in such situation like that.. but until the plane arrived to bahrain i havent heard anything from them..will never ride Gulf air again very disappointing…

  11. Maybe it’s time you (as in vloggers in general) actually address your dissatisfaction and disappointment already onboard. Why wait to complain in your videos about bad behavior, dirty seat, dirty utensils or near uneatable food?

  12. And you haven’t yet heard gulf air stories from locals. I find your inconveniences a luxury if taken in the context of regional flights. Aside from rude flight attendants at times, GA is more of a sunny day airline, never for the rainy day. Because of stringent budgets and austerity measures, the moment they face an inconvenient weather or a plane broken down in Jeddah or delayed because of delayed departure from Milan all hell breaks loose. This reflects negatively on passengers and flight attendants too, why at times they can be very rude. Remember this is an 80Y old airline, and still doesn’t have crowd management or crisis management, and being a major liability on Bahrain national budget, one has to look at GA as a last resort airline. It’s much more convenient to travel to Kuwait or Jeddah or Dubai or even Abu Dhabi by a car than take a GA flight. The flight can turn into a nightmare.

  13. You may not believe it but at one point ( 40 years ago ) GF was the envy of all airlines. I’ve flown them since they had their VC-10 aircraft , it was part of my childhood , sadly that’s a distant memory today . With airlines like Qatar , Emirates ( not Oman air which is a spin off of Gulf Air) . I doubt very much that they will ever improve, unless there is a major overhaul.

  14. Good to know. Thank you. I make decisions based on reviews like this and as a result I will never fly Gulf Air. Are you reading this Gulf Air? You should.

  15. Gulf air are usually really good, I've been on 2 business flights in the past I didn't have the same issues, the staff member was wrong for touching your phone, how many people in past flew in and out of bahrain and took videos from the flight and the airport but it seems like the staff member is one of those political guy's who are against the government including business and most probably trying to bring a bad name to the country, the gulf air staff and airport staff are usually really kind and polite, the food you had doesn't really look the same as gulf air food as they have professional chefs, they most of added more to the biryani to make airlines look bad since biryani doesn't have pees or curry sauce
