Kenrokuen Garden is next to Kanazawa Castle in Kanazawa and considered to be one of Japan’s most beautiful feudal lords’ gardens in Japan. It has the oldest fountain in Japan and Kotoji-toro, the two-legged stone lantern.

The “Yukitsuri” conical shaped wood with ropes protect the pine branches from breaking during the winter and is in itself, a scenic attraction. I rolled my eyes and gave a huge sigh when guide said, “Walk through a garden in a downpour” but it was so very beautiful.
