Malta celebrates with lights and Christmas is no exception 🙂

In December, Malta transforms into a wonderland full of festive events and seasonal cheer. Triton Square is one of the best places to enjoy the Christmas spirit in Malta!

Whilst an island in the Mediterranean that enjoys over 3000 hours of sunshine every year, maybe a far cry from typical White Christmas, you will be pleasantly surprised. During December, Malta transforms into a wonderland full of festive events, dazzling Christmas lights, and plenty of seasonal cheer.

Pjazza Tritoni in Valletta is transformed into Santa’s City this Christmas from the 8th of December 2022 to 6th of January 2023! You can find Rudolph’s Wheel, Ice-Skating Rink and a traditional Christmas Market where you can get all your stocking fillers and indulge in a variety of Festive Food and Drink options whilst doing so!

You do not have to be Catholic to enjoy Malta`s unique Christmas traditions and here are some of them. You’ll love them 🙂
– Malta goes all out on decorations (each houses is lighted up with hundreds of small white fairy lights and balconies of many houses are overflowed with flashing colours )
– Every Maltese family has a heirloom Baby Jesus in a manger
– Every Maltese family grows vetches
– Locals go to midnight masses, eat mqaret and drink mulled wine
– A children’s procession takes to the streets early Christmas morning
– Families indulge in the Christmas Day lunch
