Art of light spreads across
the Nakanoshima waterfront
The Osaka Hikari-Renaissance, now in its 20th year, will feature a full range of illumination programs using the waterside scenery of Nakanoshima, which symbolizes Osaka’s status as a city of water. The event will look back on the city’s roots in water bring together the waterfront, people, and the city, just as the “Happyakuyabashi” bridge once did.

1.Osaka City Central Public Hall
Projection Mapping
There will be a projection mapping performance held on the east wall and floor of the Osaka City Central Public Hall, one of the symbols of Nakanoshima. The city hall is a place of culture, art, and academia, and has a history of over 100 years. The performance this year will use modern visual technology to create 3DCG and real-time image generation to express the shift from water, to ice, and on to steam, to represent Osaka and its continuing evolution as a city of water.
