  1. I enjoy this page but please check your facts. This is not true regarding Carnival obc.

  2. There is so much anti cruise garbage out there right now. I’m the one cruise advocate in the family. I find myself always defending a cruise against all these uneducated people. 99% of which have never set foot on a ship.

  3. I feel, they will change their policy soon for people who are booking cruises during the pandemic, knowing that the cruise could be canceled at any time due to no fault of the cruise line. They will be well within their right to do so.

  4. They have been using flags of convenience to avoid paying taxes and take advantage of their workers for far too long. They get no sympathy from me.

  5. We took advantage of a terrific offer on Carnival. Oct 5day for 2 oceanview cabins. 500 per cabin OBC. This was the best casino offer we have gotten.

  6. My opinion is that the cruise lines are to blame. Cruise lines are using people. The cruise are unfairly getting their customers hopes up by letting them book these cruises in May that will get canceled. Why would they do this? They are trying to mitigate their stock price losses by showing that they have bookings. But it lets down the cruiser who thought that they were booking a legitimate cruise.

  7. I think it is ok because Carnival is not offering refunds for any cruises that were booked (or rebooked) after March 11th. So if the cruise does sail, the customers have to sail or else they lose their money. If someone makes multiple bookings with the intention of sailing if it is not cancelled, then there is nothing wrong with that

  8. We are actually losing money. We cancelled our cruise 2 days before the cruise line cancelled because we are CDN and we were concerned about the border closing, so we only got a future cruise credit for the same we paid. We rebooked for October because we had airfare that we had to use before October otherwise we would lose it. The airline wouldn't give us a full credit, we lost $500 we paid to upgrade to economy plus seats. We don't really want to cruise in October but if we don't we lose our airfare. On top of it all we have to pay more money for a 7 day cruise than we paid for our original 11 day cruise and we are cruising in a month we don't want and a place we don't really want to go. The cruise line and airline are getting more money from us. I am sure we aren't the only ones losing money out there.

  9. This is false. This happened to me so when you rebook you get whichever OBC is highest either the new offer or the previous offer you don’t get both.

  10. Well I think the cruise lines should only give one cancellation bonus per name. If you have multiple bookings you should only be able to get a bonus on one cruise. Most people that do multiple bookings book them months apart if not years apart. If they are booking multiple bookings in the same month then there is a problem. People think they can scam the cruise lines. Most times it will come back to bite them. People should stop taking advantage of bad times because in the end everyone will suffer. It is going to take a while before everything gets back to "normal". Looking forward to my cruise in March 2021 on the Carnival Breeze.

  11. I agree people are doing it to take advantage of it however with that being said Carnival and all other cruise lines should say they arent sailing until said date however stop allowing reservations to be made before the 100 days that the CDC put in place. yes hopefully we can cruise before the 100 days but why not stop the bookings until we know for sure? I'm sure they are already 80% booked so even if they dont fill the ship it will still make some profit

  12. it's morally wrong to take advantage but you can see why people are doing it. I chose a refund and will wait and see what happens before rebooking……love all your content by the way. I'm in the UK so can't join in with the live show cause of the time difference but i'll catch the replay. Keep doing what you're doing and #staysafe

  13. I'm for the people doing whatever they want. Cruise Lines do what they want to take profits. I LOVE TO CRUISE. But it got too expensive last year, and now they may be forced to be reasonable. Do you agree with the wages and hours they pay people on board? The below figures are profits (not revenue). PROFIT. Hell no I don't feel bad for the Cruise Lines. They will be fine. Carnival annual gross profit for 2019 was $7.917B, a 1.62% increase from 2018.

Carnival annual gross profit for 2018 was $7.791B, a 11.16% increase from 2017.

Carnival annual gross profit for 2017 was $7.009B, a 0.04% increase from 2016.

  14. WoW Never even thought of doing that!! It’s like kicking someone when they’re already down! But I can see some people doing that and it’s very very sad…

  15. The cruise lines really didn't have to do this. That needs to be taken into account by those pursuing this. Many people only bought electric vehicles because the government was giving them free money to do so. Though what these people are doing could be viewed as clever, it is taking advantage of someone's generosity.

  16. No sympathy for the cruise lines. They don't U.S taxes. They avoid contributing to the U.S economy . No sympathy!!!

  17. We cruising n october we still making payments in our cruise. We so hoping for this b over by then. We love carnival

  18. But on the flip side, Royal Caribbean are offering 125% FCC and no OBC. However, nearly every future comparable RC cruise I have looked at is much more expensive than 125% of what I was going to pay and so, in this case, the customer loses out and the cruise company make money. So every situation has winners and losers.

  19. Whoa are you serious? People are doing to cruise lines what Cruise lines have been doing to us for decades….taking advantage. For example let's ask the question, why are cruises banned from the government bailout? Because they register their ships Internationally to avoid the heavy tax brackets as well as labor laws. Have you attended dinner in the dining room of the ship at 8pm? The waiter…..I'm sure you'll see the same person at 6am seating breakfast. They work these employees around the clock, no union representation whatsoever. Then ask, why is it that viruses breakout and rampage through a cruise ship… because they constantly over sell the ship passed capacity by pushing for 2 3+ people per cabin and charging a "surcharge" for single cruisers and trap 4,000 people plus into a space mainly for about 2,000. They're finally getting a taste of their own medicine and they better learn and adapt. So what raise the price of a cruise, it's a luxury not a necessity but if that means less people, healthier conditions then I'll all for it. Start paying taxes here instead of just taking our money and spending a low tax in another country. Start hiring more employees, give proper benefits and more off time. The world is watching.

  20. Or….the cruise lines could actually cancel cruises far out to a realistic date instead of this piecemeal approach of 30 days at a time when they definitely know that wasn't realistic. But they do this to capture revenue bookings today even though they know they will be canceling and this will just cost them some future profit. As things stand, just reasonable deduction / logic would say that any cruises starting up in early July is a pipe dream given all the uncertainty of open ports, open cities / open countries, getting crew back, getting ships out of warm or cold storage etc. etc. would mean reasonably that September is likely the earliest we would see (maybe august if the stars align right). Yet the cruise line are happy to take your money for July bookings knowing that 80-90% likely to be cancelled. So this is really a bet between savvy consumers gaming that they will cancel and cruise lines not being 100% honest and forthcoming gaming that they can book some desperately needed revenue. I would imagine that the majority of things people buy on board are extremely profitable with little or no net incremental cost to the company. So giving away $600 of profit (or likely 90% of that as profit) is hardly costing them anything and gave them cash today / soon when they need it more. I am 100% certain that no company does anything that disadvantages them, they know full well the cost of doing business and the various customer retention plans / offers they come up with. Besides, anyone that does this, all it does is just lock them into a future cruise, so its really a win win for all involved. Just my .02 😉

  21. The cruise ships r being fools. Not the people. Why r they letting them book. Carnival needs to rebook 2021.

  22. I don't think its wrong, if Carnival doesn't like it don't let ppl rebook for the dates. I understand no one knows but at the same time ppl trying to get back on cruises just as fast as they want to open back up. Just make the OBC lower for those who already received and credit due to Covid. I know they told me credits don't stack so idk..

  23. No different than taking advantage of a neighbor in hard times. Especially a neighbor that been so important to all of us in the good times.

  24. Always people looking to screwing companies, that’s a shame and carnival needs to back off on the OBC, just my opinion. It’s Totally taking advantage.

  25. Obviously Carnival knows that this is happening. It seems to me that they need to put stipulations on the future cruises cancellation polity. They should be able to figure out which low life customers are trying to take advantage of the situation. It should be a one time offer and put a time stamp on picking another cruise at least 5 months out. Thanks for sharing and I agree this is one of those situations that the bad behavior of a few will affect the results for all.

  26. As long as it took me to get myself and my 3 clients rebooked and future credits applied, i couldn't imagine taking the time to do it multiple times on purpose lol.. things like this only hurt everyone down the road when prices go up.

  27. Yes I agree with you. I hope they don’t cancel ours in September but if they do we will all agree to move the money that we paid to a new cruise date either the end or in Jan 2021.

  28. Its blasphemy I tell you, we have people like in the world when dealing with the pubic, I work in a industry that deals with the public and people like are always trying to get on someone, much love ❤❤❤❤

  29. charging $15 for a drink (that cost 25cents to make) is “taking advantage”. I don’t feel sorry for any of these cruiselines.

  30. NO. People are NOT taking advantage of Carnival or other cruise lines. Cruisers/Consumers are the ones who's taking the risk for the cruise lines' business practices. No one is holding a gun to the cruise lines' head, they are offering an "incentive" for cruisers to keep the money with them so they won't have outgoing cash flow now for 100% refunds, which cruisers have already fully paid for. Again, cruisers have already fully paid for the cruise & are taking the risk that Carnival won't go bankrupt in the future.
For example, we fully paid $10,000 for a car in Jan, in March car was recalled for defect. Car manufacturer can fully refund the $10,000 back to us, or offer us $12,500 credit to buy another new one with possible defect fixed, maybe coming in Sept. We already paid in Jan, doesn't matter what's the pricing is in Sept, it could be higher (we lose) or lower (we win), so it's a huge risk for us to not take the $10,000 refund now, but to wait until end year to hopefully take that risk that the car manufacturer won't be bankrupt by then. It's not taking advantage, it's a risky investment.
Another example, let's say our family owns a large restaurant with banquet facilities. A wedding party fully paid $10,000 in Jan for wedding in April. Now the Gov't forced us to shut down. Wedding cancelled. With no incoming revenues from our restaurant, have to pay restaurant & banquet facilities lease, taxes, payroll, & other expenses, you think we want to pay back the $10,000, or offer $12,500 for future event in Sept + $600 in free flowers, if they'll allow us to keep the $10,000 now. So you think the bride & groom taking are advantage of us if they won't demand the $10,000 back today, but decides for $12,500 future party, & hope we don't go bankrupt by then…?

  31. Ive taken advantage of reimbursement/bonus and saved over 1,000$. Rebooked on the earliest date available because we are still crazy excited to go. I'm sure the people at the cruz lines understood this could happen. Plus our tax dollars most likely will bail them out.

  32. Umm, speaking as a person that has been taken advantage of by Royal Caribbean where I have yet to receive my refund 28 days later i say GOOD JOB to those that are racking up credit . I had the option of 125% credit but what they didn't tell you was when you rebook they still made you pay additional cash for the deposit. Some ppl were asked to pay over $200 cash . These cruise companies are taking advantage of us! Starting with the fact that they arnt even US or EU based they exploit lax laws of island nations. These CEO's are still fine! Their company value may be tanking right now but their personal bank scis are fine! If they hadnt been pressured into refunding cash they wouldnt have ever offered it as an option to begin with. It took a matter of seconds to pull funds from my account to purchase but is taking a month now to refund it. Walmart processes thousands of refunds a day and my money is back within 24 hrs so their excuse if having a lot of refunds to do is be. And the on board credit they give only makes things cost what they normally would cost on a regular day $12 for a basic mixed drink that cost $5-$7 , $250 excursion that only cost $100 if you booked directly. I have 0 sympathy for them.

  33. I booked three cruises 😆 I was feeling optimistic. Nov dec and jan… but my thoughts were if they did cancel i would not take the money i would book again and just looked at like an investment. I also dumped butt tons of money in their stocks 😆 feeling like living on the edge i guess

  34. The cruise lines should wait, until they know that they will be up and running before booking cruises. The cruise lines should lock down their cruising websites, so that online reservations aren't operable until, there is no more delays for sailings. The cruise lines wouldn't have to give multiple future on board credits, if they did temporarily suspend their operations.
