I was at Kokura Station and I stopped to eat a banana real quick. Was sitting there minding my own business when out of nowhere this old drunk guy assaulted me with the English language. This is Kokura Station in Kitakyushu, right? I never expected to encounter such a fascinating creature outside of Tokyo like that.
Kitakyushu City is located in the west of Japan, and is the northernmost city of the Kyushu region. It is situated conveniently close to many rapidly developing East Asian countries. With views over the Sea of Japan and the Seto Inland Sea, and with forty percent of the city’s area comprised of rich forest, it is a city blessed with an abundance of nature. Kitakyushu is a fantastic sightseeing city that welcomes over ten million visitors every year. Many of these tourists are entering via Kokura Station, which is the main station in Kitakyushu serving the Kagoshima Main Line, Sanyō Shinkansen, Nippō Main Line, Hitahikosan Line, and Kitakyushu Monorail.
