Political chaos in a foreign country. We’re here, in Peru. This is the state of affairs in Peru, the ripple effect around the country, and how we’ve had to pivot from our original plans. It’s not something you want to experience firsthand but we’re sharing, safely, what’s going on.

Thanks for tuning in to our update in Peru. The day to day routine in Lima is chill and largely unaffected outside of Centro. We'll be saving trips to Cusco and Arequipa for another time when the scene calms down.

Back to Ecuador 🇪🇨
United States may not be anymore stable but I would feel better if you two were home in the US with family now. You put on a brave face and that is commendable. You are important to so many of us subscribers. My prayers are with you two and the people of Peru. 🙏❤️🎄
When you guys posted the events occurring on the other video it remind me of that scene in The Godfather when Michael Corleone was trying to get his brother Alfredo to get in the car with him so they can leave the country before things got all the way out of hand…. I was sitting here thinking then that you guys should have exit. But regardless God be with you both and be safe.🙏🏿
Very sad what Peru is going thru right now. Stay safe, prayers for you and the Peruvians. You can always go back sometime and see the things that you will miss during this trip.
It's so sad 💔 I pray things get better for Peru and its lovely people🙏🏾. It's crazy how things can change dramatically so quickly. I was planning on going back to Peru to settle there for a while if my other plans didn't work out. I was there in May and really enjoyed it. I was just like you marvelling at the beauty of the oceanfront in Barranco 🥰 Maybe you could highlight local businesses in Lima for dining, coffee, places for digital nomads etc… I could not find a lot of recent content when I was doing my research. Anyways I hope you'll be able to make the most of your time in Lima!
I really hate that all this is going on right now and that you guys are “stuck” in the mayhem. Hopefully things will peacefully end soon and you’ll get to further explore Peru. I’ll be there in March if things have calmed down and was looking forward to your content.
Stay safe and enjoy what you can. You’re in our thoughts and prayers!!
Thanks!
Mexico>>>Ecuador>>>Peru
I was in Lima for 3 weeks in October and I loved it. It’s currently my favorite city on earth. The people are great, the pisco sours are A1. Super affordable (if you have USDs)
So glad you two are safe. Thank you for sharing.
Hey folks so sorry to hear about what’s happening in Peru at the moment. However, Lima is a bomb ass city. We love Lima. It sounds like you two are all up on things you need to do while the country is in distressed. I wanted to let you guys I know I spoke with two amigos that are born and raised in Lima today. They both are feeling very optimistic about what’s happened and they are hopeful that Peru will be back on track and the that the Army is now in control. They both are happy that the communist is in prison. They too are feeling very safe in Lima at the moment. Sending you two positive vibes that Lima will continue to be safe. On a side note, can we talk about the food in Miraflores and Barranco!! If you haven’t please try their Chicharron Sandwich and their Ceviche!! They will melt in your melt BABY!!!!
Glad you guys are safe. Need to get that drink and grub when yall atop through Cleveland again!!
Keeping you both in prayer for the Father to continue to always protect you both. You know where your USA home is.
I visited Lima back in 2010.
I ventured into the Barranco District. It was there I stopped at some random Peruvian restaurant. OMG…great move on my part!
I sat at a random table with someone that spoke English, she helped me with the menu.
The purple corn juice was delish 😋 but what topped off the experience was the restaurant staff. Each wait staff took turns dancing on the bar.
I saw all their African roots (that they try to hide) as they rolled them hips. 🤭
Baby, when I tell you It was a whole vibe…it was exactly that.
I left Peru thinking…hmmm, I can see myself living here.
Also, DO NOT leave Peru without trying their caramel cookies called Alfajores. I couldn't find them in any of the bakeries. I just so happened to be lost walking from the Government Square. I stopped at a bus stop to ask a teenager if he could guide me to an internet cafe, to have my hotel send a driver when an indigenous woman approached me, selling the cookies. The same cookies that I had been looking for for 3 days. 😯
Don't make the mistake I made, I only bought 1 bag. Get SEVERAL.😋
You would probably be comfortable in Iquitos. It is very laid back. They have had some protests but no violence apart from a scuffle or two. You could relax in the jungle atmosphere. I like the Hotel Camu Camu. Enjoy yourselves wherever you are.
Glad to hear You are both okay!
I'm sorry you guys got caught up in that. Unfortunately, without a fair rewriting of Peru's constitution, it doesn't seem like democracy will be allowed to reign.
I really loved Lima. I almost got trapped in Peru also but for different reasons. I left the day before they shut down the country due to COVID. The shut down the airports and buses and all transportation within the country. Plus I got sick and didn't get to trek Machu Picchu but i did see it and I was there for my passport stamp at the Machu Picchu gate.
I wish you two safe travels.
I am so sad to hear this. I hope once things settle down, you will be able to go back! Just please be safe. Have a happy and safe holiday! 🎄
Yes it is really happening. This is reality, not the world of tourists. China is a mess too. If you guys are planning to go there, don’t expect tourist heaven.
I saw a movie shot in Peru and I was shocked. Are you guys going to try Africa, Asia or Brazil or Spain?
I was supposed to go there for a visa and all plans fell through too.
Man, so sorry to hear that…😢however enjoy the city you’re in and I look forward to more about Peru. Definitely on my bucket list and thank you for the tips on travel and registering travels. Stay safe but have a blast.
Want you to stay safe, and it sounds like you are taking precautions. Thanks for your honest opinions about the areas that you travel to. I am living vicariously through you in all the other countries/cities I would love to see.
Sorry to hear this. What a great attitude you have dealing with it.
Praying for your safety.
Hey family! Just glad y'all are safe, and bringing and "on the ground" perspective. Great video as always.
No plans to go there but y'all did a great informative video!
Keep your heads down & stay safe
Love your VLOGs!!!
I so appreciate you guys. Looking forward to seeing more from you in LIMA.
Looks like an average day in The Bronx
