HELLO JAPAN! I’m one of the first tourists back after the country has been closed off for nearly 3 years, and it’s SO GREAT TO BE BACK in one of my favorite countries on earth! This is the very first time that I made it down to the tropical wonderland they call Okinawa – this place is way different than the Japan you are thinking of, so join me in this $10 video where I take you around the island to see what $10 can get you in Okinawa, Japan!

  1. 1:41 Spam is basically the soul food of Okinawa. Their love affair with it dates back to the post-war era when the Japanese faced economic hardship. The US military based on Okinawa gave Spam to help the locals out, and they got hooked. Similar to how Spam became popular in Hawaii because Japanese-Hawaiians couldn't fish so they resorted to putting Spam (which they had plenty of because of all the soldiers sent there) on rice rather than fish and thus Spam musubi became a thing.

Taco rice also became a thing because of the US military. Americans brought their love for tacos with them and in turn, taco rice was born!

  2. These videos are great!!!! Keep them coming !! Really enjoyed learning something from Japan…. Including the Taco Rice…..TBH… Nothing Mexican there….. Looks like something from Taco Bell.

  3. The Pokémon sign at 1:06 is advertising a "Flying Pikachu Donut Stick", part of promoting the Pokémon Air Adventures (A collab with airlines creating "Pikachu Jets") and includes a Pokémon-themed experience in Okinawa, showing Okinawa to the world. The goal is to not only help the airline and travel industries, but also to get people excited about travel again after the pandemic and celebrate by creating wonderful memories.

I know every language, as I am a walking Rosetta Stone. I am a Supreme Leader after all.

  4. You can't go wrong with visiting Japan!
5:10 But it was Nagasaki, not "Nagasaka". Now, some Japanese after the bombing of Hiroshima thought, "Hey, let's go to Nagasaki, it has a historical Christian population, the Americans won't bomb there!" Big mistake!

  5. man this is wild. i was on your channel yesterday searching for this exact video, i was going to DM you and ask you to make one…and here it is. what are the odds
