  1. I love the beard–you look fantastic!! Your music and video intros are the best on YouTube.

Have fun out there and I hope you found a beer.

  2. That food looks delicious, and it is good to know that they have more reasonable options despite the fact that it is a very expensive country. Safe travels to Bali.

  3. The reason why I watch your videos (and probably why you travel) is to see the interesting cultural differences between what is the customary American way of living versus the particular place you are visiting.

The world obviously is comprised of many different ways of life. It’s interesting just to see a square where the locals go to dance together. You would never find that in America. These places are heavily populated & so there apparently is a need for plenty of small restaurants… people need to eat! They just go downstairs from their apartment above & find a food stall. In America – we tend to eat at home more & of course we do not have many cities with populations as many at 5 million people

  4. Oriental Chinese Restaurant 东方美食 looks like it specializes in Northeast 东北 & Sichuan Chinese food. Of course with a Singaporean take on those ancestral cuisines.

  5. errr….those are china food, not singaporean food, but glad that you find them tasty & enjoyable.

  6. Not a fan of tripe, huh? I find that it’s one of those situations in which you would be ok with it if you didn’t know what it was. I ordered a bowl of soup with tripe and noodles and a few other things once here in VA. I asked to make sure there was no crab (sadly, my nemesis) and the waitress tried to warn me about the tripe. Yes, yes, that’s fine – but no crab, right? 😉

  7. I've eaten at Tiong Bahru hawker centre and Old Airport Road Food Centre, both are inexpensive place to eat. For more upscale hawker and/or food court, there's Food Republic. I've been to the one located in VivoCity.

  8. You are the master of the Shaggy Dog Story. After a very long starvation trek you find a place with a menu the size of a phonebook. What to choose, what to choose and no beer. Oh the irony.

  9. Hi Gabe, thanks for posting this eating local food episode as you mentioned! I was in Singapore for a week 2 months ago. A local friend told me you need to go there during meals hours. Then you can have a greater choices of varieties of different kinds. If you see a line at certain kiosk, that's where the good food is!

  10. Nice vid Gabe. Since you're going to Bali, if you're still interested going to onsen, there are some onsens in North Bandung area (Bandung is a couple hours from Jakarta). They're located nearby an active volcano, and yes you can visit really close to the crater (Mt.Tangkuban Parahu). The onsen is Ciater Hot Spring.

  11. You have lots and lots of patience. Walking around hungry, calmly checking out places… 👍😊

  12. Why didn't you eat earlier? Who would be happy to see a menu for a restaurant that's closed? Why picked two dishes from the noodle page? Why did you say soy sauce in Japanese in a country where English is spoken? Just to confirm, this is his fourth time in Singapore.

Hey everyone in Singapore, I hope you were not affected by the heavy rain. But, my brain is flooded with question marks because of his actions.

  13. Based on your video, Singapore doesn't look too interesting, kind of run down, very average food.

  14. Hi Gabriel, have you been to other places besides Chinatown? It seems many vloggers go to Chinatown. This place doesn't represent Singapore, the food in this vid as well. More of China's Chinese influence here. There's lots more interesting sights to see not just the Chinese culture here. Safe travels to Bali! 😊

  15. I love how spontaneous you are with your travel. It gives me a feel for how places really are. I love seeing this place when it is closed. What a brilliant perspective! Following your channel it’s so great to see these videos as soon as they drop. So glad I found your stuff!

  16. That ain't local Singaporean food, far from it. That particular shop serves Chinese food. Also never leave your chopsticks inserted in the middle of your bowl, that is rude AF in Asian culture.

  17. For the sake of accuracy, what you were eating is cuisine from Northern China. It is sort of like eating poutine in Kansas calling it American food. Anyway loved your videos from Croatia.

  18. One bottle is soy sauce, the other is probably black vinegar which goes well with pot stickers.

  19. Gabriel flaunting his chopstick skills. Got your grip proper, wayyyy up those chopsticks. 10/10.
Nothing worse than amatuer hour when someone has them crossed and holding them 1/4 way up haha

  20. Chinatown is a well known MORNING place for food and such. I think you missed out on that homework mate. Most of the hawkers are done for by mid late afternoon

  21. WoW…is this your first trip to Singapore??? When did u arrive in Singapore???
Maybe u can come to see Penang, Malaysia???

  22. Japan is much better in service, they greet you when a dish is done. That lady in red just put your order on the table and say nothing.

  23. What you ate was not Singaporean food , that was the food from northern part of China, brought by the new immigrants from China , the Chinese have huge impact in Singapore, by the way ,the grandmother dance in the square is also brought by the new immigrants Chinese people from China.

  24. You should cut thru the food centre n turn left..to upper cross street where there is two coffeeshop opening 24 hrs…the restaurant you went in along the main street serve China style Chinese food….not local stuff.

  25. Higher chances to be found not at the tourist areas but in the HDB heartlands me reckon

  26. why is singapore so eerily empty? are there living creatures on the streets, ants, birds??
