🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.

If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I’m a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

  1. Your how helps with my depression and eating disorder. Hey my life isn't bad at all. Getting sober is a pretty simple thing on the surface. A much easier health journey than many experience.

  2. In all of these African shows, for the vast majority have a very happy, pleasant, and playful disposition. It seems they have a healthy perspective on life: having so little, facing so many hardships, lack of opportunities, yet does nothing their "spirit." They are happy, in spite of having less than most people in the rest of the world. You really couldn't blame them if they were bitter and angry, but they chose a different path.

A strange irony that white people only make up 8% of the population and had to move to other areas. Whites are the minorities. Truth, often stranger than fiction.

  3. The only people there when the Portuguese got there were the KoiSan no Bantus

  4. I'm stoked and excited to see what you learned about our beautiful country. Our 12th official language is definitely Food, I've been out of the country for almost 3 years, I'm so jealous and can't wait to be back!!!

  5. Love that you are in SA. our beautiful Country!!! But so disappointed that you didnt go to durban and experience the diversity and incredible food. There are indians in SA too!

  6. Sunny! We have beeeeen waiting for this SA tour.

I hope you had a great time…oh also tell me you've tried our good beer 🍺 😉

  7. During apartheid Japanese were considered honorary whites. Japan was vital for trade in sections like technology

  8. Can't wait for Cape Town's episode ❤️ so happy you doing South Africa I love when tourist enjoy our diversity as cultures, food and vibes

  9. Your title.. How are we a complicated country? Black, white, and coloured, Indian people get along. What's so complicated about that? Americans kill black people every day. is that what you guys consider "Not Complicated" This is a rainbow nation our food tells a lot about our history, You guy always come up with weird titles when you're in Africa or any third-world country. look how juicy your titles are when you go to America and do a series about Texas food festivals and stuff. I'm not trolling you or anything but damn yall could ease up on the title. now I'm afraid to go to the store cause a youtube video spoke about how dangerous my neighbourhood is.

  10. Welcome to S.A, Sunny-side! I've been waiting for this tour for years. I'm so excited to see what you're getting up to in our amazing country.

  11. "Africans most complicated country" 😳😩😂😂😂😂 Yep fellow SAns they saying we complicated

  12. I am very disappointed as a South African Indian with the lack of acknowledgement and representation of the Indian community in this video. It can be said that Indian cuisine constitutes a major part of modern South Africa's food culture; so much so that oriental hallmarks like bunny chows, samoosas and curries have become staples of the South African diet as a whole. The fact that we haven't been recognised here is disheartening and indicates a lack of proper research done on the Best Ever Food review teams part.

  13. As a South African Indian I can't help but feel annoyed and a little bit disrespected that you completely failed to even mention the Indian community despite our insane history in this country, not to mention, the Durban bunny chow is one of the most quintessential meals on the list of iconic South African foods.

  14. I am so happy that you finally in SA, can't wait for you to learn the amazing phrases we use and the amazing tasty food we have.

  15. Seeing Sonny with a rifle is giving me flashbacks to when Sonny got kissed by a scope the last time. It was especially funny because the opening shot zooms in and you can see the scar 🤣

  16. South Africa is soooo diverse it needs a few months to experience it all or atleast the most important foods from each race, culture, tradition etc… We have the best people in the whole world ❤️

  17. Nice to see our country represented but cape Town is an experience on its own and should have its own episode. Lots of "flavour" found in cape Town

  18. Thanks for featuring South Africa. But please, the townships and their lacking infrastructure is not due to apartheid. The current corrupt goverment has been in charge for 30 years – how much more time do they need to improve living conditions of their voters? The goverment is not interested in their masses, they deliberately keep the people impoverished and uneducated.

  19. You forgot about the Indians… We were brought to south africa as slaves from india. Durban has the highest population of indians in south africa. Pity you didnt mention indians

  20. The term "coloured" is actually an insult to Black majority. Because in essence they are saying we are superior to Black people. That's what the term was designed to portray. They wanted to identify as white, but get rejected by whites.

Anyway bottom line is South Africa belongs to Africans, Bantu/Batho.
