This is the best cycling city my wife and I have ever visited. In Taipei, Taiwan there are many safe dedicated cycling paths, many hill climb mountain roads nearby the city, and a lot of great food all around. It is an absolute playground for road bike cycling.

Today we are testing out some new Peg mini velo bikes from Stijn Cycles. We will be filming a dedicated review of them soon.

We were also very happy to have our new rain jacket from our clothing sponsor Santic today.

I love it. The gorgeous scenery, mountains, all covered in green trees. The city looks like Vietnam, but cleaner and the sidewalks are navigable. Taiwan is definitely on our list.
Great vid! I've always fancied adding a mini velo to my fleet.🤙🚲
I think I watched you all cycle in some mountains in Taiwan, can we expect something like that again?
Those are awesome bikes and you guys are in shape, make the climb look easy like they’re false flats, I can see why you love cycling Taipei, it’s beautiful, the bike trail at the end of the video reminds me of the beach trail I use, Santa Monica to to Palos Verdes (Los Angeles) and since my rides are usually in the morning I also get gloomy weather most of the time, good workout. 👍
Great content! Have always wanted to see Taipei, and your tour on bikes makes experiencing it all the more enjoyable. Glad you've recovered from your foot injury and are back doing the things you enjoy. Couldn't help but notice that Thuong's thigh muscles look developed from all the cycling you guys have been doing. She flew up the mountain! The city looks really impressive. Thanks for taking us there.
I'm looking forward to your following videos in Taiwan.
I'd love to visit Taiwan, for an extended stay. But it ain't gonna happen, unfortunately. 😮💨 Anyway, stay safe and enjoy yourselves.
Isn't this the place China is thinking about invading? 😧
Looks better than Vietnam !
So nice that there’s a network of dedicated bike paths there. I think we need more of those in the U.S. You guys get to ride such neat bicycles. About the bikes you were riding, how heavy are they and do they feel bumpier than conventional road bikes?
Any trips to Korea planned? I think you mentioned it a while ago but I forgot
Those Mini-Velo bikes are great! I can't find them in the U.S. I'm glad I found a Giant Expressway folder that has similar frame geometry, so I get close to full leg extension when I pedal. Also found a Dahon Classic 3 & a Speed Uno. Waiting for warmer days to ride them like you guys! God bless!
I am currently on Lanzarote to escape the german winter and I saw an elderly british couple with similar bikes, but they where foldable. (Embarrassingly they where faster than me 😕)
What are your riding plans in Taipei or Taiwan?
What are the travel requirements for fully vaccinated traveller? Do we still need to quarantine or take a covid test? Ty
Watching you guys reminding me of the movie (Sleeping Dictionary). The movie was about an English man teaching his partner wife English or she was his interpreter , I don’t remember exactly. But Thương English is improving very nicely.
Wow I would love to visit Taiwan again soon!
Thanks for sharing!
I want to go to Taipei someday
Great Taipei video. Looking forward to the rest..It's a nicer option if you decide not to stick in Vietnam in the near future. Better cycling infrastructure, routes.
Mate… was desperate for her to attack you on the climb!
How about some e-biking for fun. When cycling up mountains how effective is a e-bike? Taiwan looks great. Nice ride.
Very nice!
Wishing you and Thuong a Very Happy Christmas ,Thank you both for all your videos in 2022 i look forward to your 2023 travels.
wow taiwan very near philippines 🙂
Years and years, but at the end, you both will end up here, I am sure …
Just returned after week riding up Yangminshan and Maokong. Was raining the whole of last week. Tested my winter water resistant kit. First time using it. Later my ride companions rode the fearsome Rulaishenzhang route with me in our hired sag wagon as support.
nice mini velo bikes
Jayoe Jayoe XD
Btw isn't Stijn in Japan? His famous of his minivelo design and some folding bikes cmiiw.
It’s a great city and country for recreational and sport cycling, but for commuting it’s not a patch on somewhere like Utrecht in the Netherlands for example. I’m never going to see riding on pavements as acceptable infrastructure of any kind. That part of it in Japan is not why Japan is good for commuting. It’s the quiet and narrow local roads that encourage lots of people to ride. And they just put up with the pavement riding parts. Here we have only pavement cycling for most regular people, and only the cycling enthusiasts take to the roads. Almost all of those types of people who ride mamachari bikes in Japan just don’t ride at all.
I recommend you to ride to Da-xi old street (大溪老街), or to San-xia old street (三峽老街),southwest part of Taipei, and eat something there. You can ride from Ximending along the river, and ride directly to these two places, and 100% ride without cars. And for the San-xia (三峽), you have to ride across the Gan-cheng Bridge (柑城橋). And for the Da-xi (大溪), you had better ride on west side of the river.
It's a big tomb's area in Taipei about That mountain area ,and i love the River side bikeway so beautiful always
I heard, it is not easy to communicate in Taiwan, because they rarely speak english?
What other cities in Taiwan would you recommend for living?
Hi. If you are still in Taiwan, I think it would be great to visit Thermaltake Bikes and do a video on this shop!
Nice bike ride ❤❤
Missing Taipei. Moved back to The Netherlands with my family. However, my dream is to return.
The river path section in this video is also one of my regular cycling route too.
Too bad the weather is not good the whole December in Taipei but it is pretty normal in the northern Taiwan in the winter time.
Next time try to go south in winter, north in summer.
I lived in Taiwan back in the late 80s and I’ve been back many times. I would I like to see more footage if you have it. Even if it’s just riding around without talking.
