Summer tour Japan ~ Atami [fireworks]

Atami, a popular tourist destination in Shizuoka prefecture, Japan. Summer is special since it hosts spectacular firework.

We booked a ryokan(japanese hotel) little far from the hustle bustle of city center up the hill. We visited Izuna jinjya and local “sentou” (public hot tub bath) which was refreshing to the core.

Next day we went to jyukkoku touge, a hill pass to enjoy high air and valley hills. Unfortunately the weather was not in our favor so missed seeing mt. Fuji and other surrounding hills.

At the evening firework started and lasted about 40 mns. The returning crowd after the firework was something unexpected and irritatingly overwhelming. I wish we had stayed the night of the fireworks instead of the previous day stay !!
