WHO IS BUNCHARTED?

We’re Michelle and Alex, a travel-obsessed American couple living abroad in the Netherlands.

In 2020, we quit our jobs to travel the world, and… yeah, that didn’t happen. So in 2022, we decided to make an even BIGGER change, packing up our lives (and our cats 🐈), moving from Austin, Texas, to Rotterdam, in the Netherlands. Subscribe for new videos like this every week!

  1. Nice video… good to see you had a great time. And yes… in the past I went to sauna's too even the 90 degree ones. No separation between ages or genders.

  2. I love a good sauna. There are plenty here in the Netherlands as well. Most of them do have days where you can wear a swimsuit but those days tend to be the worst imho. The whole relaxed, everyone is the same, atmosphere of a regular sauna disappears in that case.

  3. For a good sauna experiance you have to go longer then 2 hours you do a few rounds of the different sauna's they have drink and eat there and just relax

  4. Must see in Berlin: Jewish Museum Berlin. Highly recommended!

  5. If you want to experience more Germany I would recommend visiting the towns of Goslar, Wernigerode and Quedlinburg on the north side of the Harz Mountains. Somehow that region isn’t discovered by international tourist yet but it’s so authentic German. All three towns are UNESCO listed and feel like the opposite of the metropol that Berlin is, but just as awesome. Oh, and they are connected by Steam Trains!

  6. You can get those Berliner donuts in the Netherlands too. We call them Berliner "Bollen", check a bakery/pastry shop in your neighbourhood, don't buy them in a supermarket. They are great with a nice cup of coffee on a Sunday afternoon 🙂

  7. Please also try the Dutch style "berliner bollen" with yellow cream inside. From a "banket bakker" or an excellent oliebollenkraam in The Netherlands. Like "Soul to Soul Travels" (Tammy and Eric) did in Rotterdam on one of their food reviews.

  8. I love a good sauna day… not just 2 hrs. My favorite sauna is Sauna van Egmond in Haarlem. It's another world. Have a look at their website.

  9. Döner is the German national dish. It was invented in Berlin (based on a common mediterranean and near and middle eastern dish. The German version is it's own specific thing, though). That Berlin Döner is seen as a bit special in Germany is for the same reasons other things in Berlin are seen as special versions of German things. Berlin is just a big city with a lot of diverse cultures. One reason specific to Döner is that Berlin Döner were very cheap, which was because the servings were tiny.
