Super cool man! I miss Japan. Never lived there, but got to visit on more than one occasion in the Navy. Always was one of my favorite ports. I plan to go back sometime soon and just hangout for a week or two. Glad I found your travel channel, been a fan of your main channel for years! Cheers!
I thought it said lawsuit in the thumbnail, with it being obscured by the video length. And I thought you were way too excited about a lawsuit.
I imagine the yen will still be fairly weak by the beginning of April. Maybe not the 100 yen to 73¢ it is now but still less than it was years ago. That plus tax free, I should be able to get some decent deals.
5:10 The mega drive of the whole thing.
DENNY’S
Today we join our Bearded Nerd as he continues his Japanese Adventure. In this part he's just wandering around showing off some cool sites and sounds of a Hard-Off. He alkso shares some travel tips and stories and gets food. He also checks out a blast from the past, a Tower Records store.

Seems like day 2 and 3 were a great time looking forward to next Time Adam. I'm sure it will be awes….. YOKOSUKA?! OH MAN! YES! 😁
I want my ridiculous anime Adam. But not for games.
I'll have to go to the book off plus in Yokohama, I found it on Google maps.
Right after you said those PS1 consoles costed about $3 I went on eBay to see the price difference. Man, eBay sellers want between $30-$70 for an NTSC-J model.
25:58 How was Yokohama Girl? I'm sure you spent hours there.
I’m going back to japan in January. My visa from my first trip expires Jan 25. Does that matter since I am re-entering?
Ok…. I doff my cap to you sir at cracking that egg like that!! And Tower records is where I bought my “ behind the scenes” of Back to the Future trilogy book at ….. ahh memories
Here's a challenge for you Adam. As someone who doesn't normally like coffee, is there a coffee in Japan that might change my mind?
Maybe it’s just because I’m so used to the way things look in the USA, but the packaging on food and drinks look way more interesting and creative over there.
I didn't know Tower Records was closed in America. We have two in Dublin Ireland here, and I've seen a few in other European countries. Definitely not gone. One of the stores in Dublin is about 3 stories high.
Great video!
Dont listen to all Adams says, this how an american thinks its is. And as per its far from it……
So, we're here to watch a tour of a music store by a guy who doesn't know music?
Tower Records was one of my favorite places to buy music. I used to go to one in Paramus, NJ. I would get CDs, music videos on VHS & DVD, music related books, music mags, etc. Fuckin’ Napster ruined it! I miss Tower Records.
Tower Records though is alive and well. You can buy physical media via mail order from them.
Only visited a tower records mini store in Shiodome ( next to Ginza ). Will definitely drop by this one when in Japan again.
I guess it’s not a good idea to drink that laxative cola when you are running around the city.
I am wearing a big Russian flag on my back pack just to let them know that I am not an American.
I remember the Virgin Megastore so I assume Tower Records was similar? That definitely will be a Must Hit place in Japan whenever I go
That coke had a character from an Anime called bleach – Ichigo ( guy with the orange hair). Wonder if it was just meant to be a normal coke Zero with that character on it. Like how we randomly get Christmas cans, Olympic cans, etc
"I went into a McDonalds and the toilet was like a calculator" -all time classic quote, but the more important question is: Why was Adam Koralik in a McDonalds?!
Interesting to get the perspective on being a foreigner in Japan. although that story about the bathroom incident, I can't believe the toilets have/need a button like that! Seeing the Japanese Tower Records was pretty cool, I had one near me when I lived in sacramento but it also folded at some point years ago. I think it's a goodwill now? they definitely make use of the old CD/record/DVD shelves for sure.
Loved it!
Just so the viewers are clear, he filmed going to the Eco Town in Hachioji, but his monologue about being a foreigner in Japan was filmed as he was going to another Hardoff in Nagatsuta.
Great video as always! The video quality really seems to have improved too.
Been in tokyo back in 2017 and its was amazing
Now after playing persona 5 royal on my ps4 during the first month of the pandemic and now playing it again recently on my ps5 I really want to go back to tokyo.
Actually Dr. Pepper is distributed by either Coke or Pepsi depending on what part of the US your in they just don’t put their name on it here. In San Diego where I live Coke distributes Dr. Pepper. Think it’s an old agreement that whoever owns Dr. Pepper now still honors. Fountain rights not sure how that’s handled as they appear on either a coke or pesi fountain.
Japan has had English signage for years and English announcements on Shinkansen and on the bigger cities rail system for years. They had English signage and announcements back in 1997 when went there for the first time.
You went to a Lawson! That's actually crazy. They started out as a dairy store in the Cleveland, Ohio area before being taken over by a Japanese company. The last remnant of Lawson's in the U.S./Ohio is that you can still get their sour cream-based chip dip at certain Circle K stores. If you ever see Lawson's chip dip it is pretty insanely good and worth a pick up.
KFC in Japan stands for Kentucky For Christmas
I met Eazy-E at Tower Records in Anaheim CA LOL
Funny enough they do the KFC Christmas 🎄 in México alot
I remember Tower Records in Times Square in NYC in the ‘90’s.
lol imagine not knowing about the pepsi zero special and wanting to try the cool japanese only pepsi. Then getting the special surprise
