Wycoller village may date back to the 10th century BC. Central to the village are the ruins of 16th-century Wycoller Hall. Various ancient bridges cross Wycoller Beck, including ‘Pack-Horse Bridge’, a twin arched bridge in the centre of the village, ‘Clapper Bridge’ (also known as Hall Bridge) and ‘Clam Bridge’ (also known as Bank House Bridge). The last is believed to be of neolithic origin (possibly 6000 years old) and is listed as an ancient monument. It consists of just a long stone laid across the river.

👍
Pretty spot and the buildings are interesting. I'm imaging the houses beside the stream —being able to open the windows and hear
the water burbling away –wonderful! The various bridges are interesting and unusual–thank you for the comments in your notes
regarding the bridges. The archway with the unusual seating inside is quite amazing and unexpected. Another fabulous
walk–thank you!
Really nice video that brought a tear to my eye this was the last place where me, my Dad and son went on a long walk before my Dad got ill and past away last year. We often walked from Ball Grove Park down to Wycoller and back. 😪
I love these old ancient historical villages. Beautiful bridges and all the character!.
Power of stone work gone into all the buildings. If you were a Stone mason
back then , you’d always have a job. Any idea what those ruins once were.
A group of houses? A lovely interesting walk!
👍👍👍
Beautiful place to walk around and get some fresh air. I enjoyed watching this my dear friend.
