Asakusa retains the vibe of old Tokyo, with traditional craft shops and street food stalls at Nakamise Shopping Street near the old Senso-ji Temple. Hanayashiki Amusement Park in Asakusa, open since the mid-1800s, has thrilling rides and cafes, while Sumida Park in Sumida, along the river, hosts regular festivals and fireworks. Casual izakayas, as well as yakitori restaurants serving kebabs and beer, dot the Sumida area.
