京都北区にある正伝寺に行ってまいりました。
程よく紅葉した境内は参拝客も少なく静かに参拝をさせて頂く事が出来ました。
デビット ボウイの愛した枯山水庭園は禅寺らしく余分を削り取った素晴らしい美しさで、静寂と遠山と秋の鳥の鳴き声と相まって美を超えた雰囲気を醸し出しておりました…..
The temple is said to have originated in 1268 or 1273 when To-an Huin founded the temple at Karasuma Imadegawa with the imperial sanction of Emperor Kameyama, with his master, Bo-an Funei, as the recommended founder. Although Bōan was an emigrant monk from the Southern Song Dynasty who returned to Japan in 1265, Tōgan decided to make his master Bōan the founder of the temple and designated it as a temple founded on the recommendation of Bōan. The temple was destroyed by the Hieizan Enryaku-ji monks and To-am moved to Seokai-ji Temple in Kamakura (no longer exists), where he died in 1277.
The temple was rebuilt in 1282. In the same year, the temple was moved to its present location in Nishi-Kamo and rebuilt with the assistance of Mori Tsunehisa, a member of the Kamosha family, and the temple’s fortunes flourished.
In 1323, Emperor Go-Daigo granted the temple an imperial mandate.
During the Muromachi period (1336-1573), the temple was patronised by the Emperors and the Ashikaga Shoguns, but was devastated by military fire during the Onin War (1467 – 1477).
The temple was restored by Tokugawa Ieyasu, who received a red seal on the temple’s territory, and during the Edo period it had five temples as pagodas.
The garden is called the ‘Lion’s Child Passing Garden’. English rock singer David Bowie personally requested Shoden-ji Temple as a filming location for his TV commercial for Takara Shuzo. David Bowie, who often visited Kyoto, was moved to tears by the beauty of the garden at Shodenji

正伝寺は行ったことがありません。紅葉をみに歩き回っている先々で、お会いしたみなさんに、よかったところはどこですか？ って聞いてるんですけど、最近、ここが一番って教えてくれた人がいました。
なので、来年行ってみたい場所NO.1です。門を入るところと枯山水のお庭の雰囲気が全然ちがうんですね。比叡山の借景もすばらしいです。映像を実際にみせてもらって楽しみが増しました。

私はデヴィッドボウイの大ファンなので亡くなった後にボウイが愛した風景を見たくて正伝寺に行ったことがあります。
結構不便な所でそれほど知られていないお寺なので何故彼がここを知っていたのか不思議でした。
動画を見てその時の記憶が蘇ってきました😂

真っ赤に染まるモミジの絨毯や木漏れ日の中を見上げる光景や歴史ある建築物など、どれもがとても丁寧に毎度完成度の高い作品に感動します❣あの空の色合いやBGMもとてもcinematicで素晴らしいです(^^)/

私は正伝寺は訪れてことがありません。
作品を観ると早朝や夕方ではないようですが、参拝者が少ないと記載がりますが、本当に人を見かけません。
11月下旬の撮影なのでしょうか？お暇な時間がありましたら教えてください。
