Personally, I was really pissed about the change in price given the fact that I am a delta plat AMEX Card holder. I only use the sky club if my flight is delayed by at least three hours. Usually I prefer to hang at a bar or a restaurant since the food is not that great in my opinion. Iβm more annoyed because Delta platinum members are being punished for something we are not doing. The problem are the reserve and American express platinum members that has unlimited access. Why else would somebody wait 30 minutes for a cup of coffee with a 45 minute layover. Iβm not paying $39 for a cup of coffee. Also, this is not going to limit The crowds. The crowds is the consequences of charging astronomical prices for credit cards so people are trying to get their moneys worth. Either way, Iβm not going to cancel my card because I never got it for the sky club and I rarely use the sky club. It pays for itself for the complementary companion ticket especially since I have a delta hub in my city. But we shall see if this actually controls the crowds.
