► Here’s a peep at daily life as it goes by in Jizou Street, located in Sugamo, Tokyo, in the northern part of the famous Yamanote circle Line.

The street is known as “Harajuku for elderly ladies”, with almost 200 shops, selling anything from traditional Japanese snacks such as sembei and mochi, to clothing and fine Japanese green teas.

It’s a fun and good place to go, if you’re interested in a more laid back and “local” Tokyo experience, not being overcrowded with western tourists.

Easy access to Sugamo by a 13 minutes train ride on Yamanote Line from Shinjuku. – Enjoy!

  7. I was studying abroad in Japan, and I loved sugamo! I lived near sugamo, and went there often with my friends hangout or go to izakaya. It's really chill and laid back, and there's a lot of cheap and good food! the residents are also really friendly too. There's a really nice onsen really close by too, behind the apa hotel! It's near a cemetery, if I remember correctly.
