OK, I just had an epiphany. Have you ever thought of hosting a small group of people that could meet at a certain hotel and go to restaurants together to try some of these places? If I had a seasoned traveler that understands the language and offer advice on how to eat certain foods that may be unfamiliar, I would feel safer to try something different. I'm sure that I couldn't be the only one that feels this way. Anyway that's just a suggestion.

there are better ways of offering negative criticism that dont involve scathing insults like "it tastes like it was washed up on the beach" respect your hosts.
also, if you plate soups/sauuces in a bowl, you can make it look a hell of a lot more presentable by portioning half a ladel at a time. its not meant to hold all the liquid in it if you scoop it to the brim. if you go slow, it will look ten times cleaner and your aesthetics will pop.
