after 4 days of traveling in SHIZUOKA and not being able to see Mount Fuji finally it came out of the clouds and luckily we were in the best spot to see it!! Nippondaira Hotel has simple nice rooms but also extremely gorgeous ones and Royal suite, Presidential suite over $2000 a night if you prefer such. however it gets easy sold out during weekend in good weather. speaking of good weather it doesn’t mean that if there is sunshine Mount Fuji will be visible. due to the proximity to the ocean and the ocean water evaporating, clouds are forming most of the time on this side of Mount Fuji covering it up, meanwhile at the exactly same time on the opposite side of the five lakes Kawaguchi Ko you might have perfect visibility on the mountain, so watching it here is a little bit tricky. the hotel has a wonderful restaurant for breakfast and lunch where you need to make a reservation, especially the lunch might get sold out soon with people coming from outside the hotel just to enjoy the views. there is an annex building with another restaurant which I find even better, Garden Lounge. and then the top floor of the hotel has a bar and lounge where you can also get finger food. right next to the bar there is an outdoor Terrace where you can take best pictures of the surrounding area and your best selfies. in front of the hotel there is a very soft former golf course lawn very wide and you can stroll the area and walk from there up to the Terrace with the same name Nihondaira Yume Terrace. that one is just a structure built for people to be able to see Mount Fuji and it also has views of the ocean side. the hotel has their own shuttle bus to bring you down to the stations of SHIZUOKA City so instead of coming up here with the public bus make sure to find the shuttle of the hotel!!
