Have friends in the other city? Send them this video and start a debate! Which do you think is better?!
Girants, there 2 cities have become so underdeveloped in everything…compare them to Singapore and Japan and Korea and china and Qatar and Dubai…they are so behind
I agree with most of this but I think once you look at the integrated transport systems of both cities London is vastly better overall.
This is interesting. How about NYC vs. METRO in DC?
Being a fairly recent Londoner originally from Toronto, I’d think you’d need to include the DLR, Overground, and Elizabeth Line in your comparison, because as a daily commuter, transferring between these is all seamless. So seamless in fact that I didn’t realize they were classified any different.
I appreciate those wayfinding screens on the NYC subway
I disagree, geography is important too. NY’s underground is basically shaped by Manhattan, which is up or down, whilst London is concentric and distances are not so huge. Also, you can use your card in all stations and methods of transport in the Greater London area. You focus on the tube but the TFL system includes DLR, overground, tfl rail and even sections of train lines. And finally, if a line breaks down, there are several routes without getting out of the actual tube. You can always change to another line and get to your destination easily. Good luck in Washington heights if the lines west break down.
Oh, and station entrances just in one direction, that force you to have to get back to the street, cross the road and get back in.
My parents found their way around in London without speaking English, which to me says something.
London is better
Very well explained bro, Im a master of undergound tube so if you come down we get about.
Coming to NY very soon thanks for the heads up 👍🏽
Just a couple of points:
24 hour is only a few lines.
The jubilee line extension is no longer new. It’s 22 years old so it’s no wonder there is lots of noise.
Otherwise a great video.
London definitely could do with more express lines like NYC. It’s one of the things I was impressed about when I was there.
The comparison should have also taken into account safety
The Subway is filthy and smelly and like standing in a sauna in the summer. And confusing. Downtown is uptown and uptown is downtown.
I would like to see Sydney trains first Melbourne trains
IMO London wins by large and not just barely. Not only because I am a Londoner and biased but also because the Elisabeth line is a huge and significant addition and for a fair comparison of both networks it can't be just dismissed because it doesn't serve the purposes of the video. Otherwise as someone who lives on the Jubilee line, I need to agree it is atrocious experience for the ears, especially between Baker and Bond Str. They need to do something about that finally. Also I am not sure whether you covered the WiFi availability topic but that's something I would say needs improvement and is a huge drawback of both systems. Another thing is how confusing the NYC subway could be as for me personally it is always difficult to understand the signs at the platforms and the direction of travelling. Furthermore once you are in certain stations and realise you are on the wrong side, the only way to cross is exiting and entering again so paying for another journey, which is utterly frustrating for me and never happened in London. I won't even get into the ridiculous connection with JFK, that's just absurd.
Here is one for you, we have got a bus service in Melbourne called Flexi Ride. It’s a bus that can take you from home straight to the shops. Ventura bus lines operate it.
You should do the HK MTR vs Singapore MRT
As a New Yorker who lives in London now, I can honestly say The Tube is much better than the Subway. One key element you forgot was that at least on The Tube I don't feel like I'm going to be pushed on the tracks and die!
i think a battle between the porto and lisbon metro systems would be interesting, not super well known but the same country having such different approaches would be very nice!
Bruh jubilee line motor sound is the best
The older s stock trains were not called the s stock 😂😂😂 it was either called the A-Stock, C-Stock or D-STock
When I hear the criminally overused and misunderstood word "iconic" in any broadcast I prepare to hit the off switch. This one has two "iconics" in 15 seconds. Bye bye…..
London obviously wins on almost every level.
So we're just gonna ignore the fact that there was a pigeon on the train after saying he didn't experience any rats in London transit system compared to New York i guess theres wild life in every transit system 🤔
if im going to be honest London underground (the whole of it) Solos Nyc
Nice video, but I get motion sickness by watching how much you swing.
You could say the Victoria line is London’s Express service through the middle of the city – no? Every 2/3 mins, only major interchanges, super fast.
All I know is I spend less time waiting on platforms in London than I do in NYC.
