Shinjuku Gyoenmae Station is located in Shinjuku 1-chome, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
It is a station on the Tokyo Subway (Tokyo Metro) Marunouchi Line.

Shinjuku Gyoen is said to have its roots in a feudal lord’s mansion given to Kiyonari Naito, a vassal of Ieyasu Tokugawa in the Edo period.
After the Meiji Restoration, the National Agricultural Experiment Station was established.
Developed as a palace garden for international diplomacy, it was opened to the public as a national park in 1949.
The garden skillfully combines European-style formal gardens, landscape gardens, and Japanese gardens designed by a French landscape gardener, and is one of the few masterpieces of landscape gardens in Japan.
新宿御苑前駅（しんじゅくぎょえんまええき）は、東京都新宿区新宿一丁目にある。
東京地下鉄（東京メトロ）丸ノ内線の駅である。

新宿御苑は、江戸時代に徳川家康の家臣・内藤清成が賜った大名屋敷がルーツといわれています。
明治維新後に国営の農事試験場が創設され、宮内省の御料地を経て、明治39年(1906)に皇室庭園として誕生しました。
国際外交拠点のパレスガーデンとして発展し、昭和24年(1949)に国民公園として一般に公開されました。
フランスの造園家のデザインによるヨーロッパ式の整形式庭園と風景式庭園、日本庭園を巧みに組み合わせた庭園は、明治時代の代表的近代西洋庭園であり、日本における数少ない風景式庭園の名作です。
