Welcome! 🙂 Let’s take advantage of the nice weather day and go together to the shrine which hides a huge trunk of a cedar tree that has been growing for 2000 years! This shrine also has over 2000 years of history. Let’s go for a leisurely walk and listen to the sounds of nature!
Kokuzo shrine is located in Aso-Kuju National Park, Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan. This place was mentioned in a book written over a thousand years ago. It makes this shrine one of the oldest in Aso region. A shrine has a peaceful atmosphere and green surroundings. One of the main points here is the remains of the huge trunk of a famous Teno no Sugi – a cedar tree. This tree died in 1991 during a typhoon. Local people loved the tree and they worked hard to preserve the tree for future generations. Today we can see a perfectly preserved tree trunk and admire its size.
May happiness be with this place.
