Uh oh, that dreaded time came around fast, where we had to drive poor Bohemia into the slings and watch nervously as she was lifted 15 feet in the air and set down in the yard!

Of course, despite all of the planning we put into this for the past year plus, not everything went according to plan and our rudder bearing replacement proved to be more challenging than expected….

We wrapped up our time in Mexico and prepared to leave Bohemia safe and sound in her new home for hurricane season, while we jetted off to Europe visit The Queen for a cuppa.

If you like our videos and want to support Bohemia’s bar tab, you can make a contribution at http://www.patreon.com/sailingbohemia.

Peter and Tom are gay sailors who learned to sail relatively recently in the San Francisco Bay, before casting off the lines to cruise Mexico and sail around the world!

Thank you!

  1. Despite having been planned a year out, there's always something that catches us off guard with a boat project… changing our rudder bearings proved to be 'one of those projects'! Find out whether we managed to avert disaster in this episode!

  2. What a laugh – war on mould aside. It’s hard to believe it’s 2.5 years since your departure from SFCA.

  3. OMG you guys are seriously the funniest sailing channel on YouTube! I was laughing so hard I have stomach aches now! Well done

  4. It will all be worth the hard work guys!
Nothing like a job well done and the satisfaction of knowing that everything is shipshape! Nothing but love guys!

  5. Is there going to be a three month gap until the next video or are you sufficiently ahead to keep the episodes coming uninterrupted?

  6. Lmao, seacocks. That is one for the books, and a lovely night time drink conversation. Take care to ensure the nipples don't leak of course (that should go without saying). Best to you both!

  7. Awesome and hilarious. So pleased you left those bits in there and didn't edit it out. Your channel just keeps getting better.

  8. Nice to see you giving Bohemia some love. You guys are a blast to follow. Missy and myself can't wait for each episode.

  9. Question: what is the lag time between capturing your video and posting? Few weeks? If you're already back sailing is it 3 months?! If you're continuing south, put Zipolote on your to do list.

  10. Lost a few stitches off my knitting needles was laughing so hard! Appreciate the humor and your channel. Keep on!

  11. Mexican workers and machine shops are the best. A machine shop in Guaymas fabricated a new stern chainplate for me that was better than the original one, in three day and for only $1,000.00 pesos. The original chainplate cracked undersail (90%), but the mast stayed up. Hector's Machine shop made an exact duplicate, all five bold holes matched the holes in the transom perfectly.
Hope you got a hotel room while at the yard, staying on the boat in the yard is not fun. As always a great video.

  12. Another great episode! Hopefully the first mate learned how to grease the seaCOCKS satisfactorily. Haha Safe travels to Europe! When will you be making more videos back on the boat?

  13. Great video! Glad you got the rudder bearing fixed. We replaced ours last year! Have fun away from the boat and come back all refreshed

  14. Great, my wife watched this with me and while I was excited at first, by the end of the episode she’s more convinced than ever that cruising is truly another term for making expensive repairs in exotic places. We lost her at mold. I think we’ll be relegated to chartering expensive boats in exotic places instead of sailing there ourselves. You should know that she fully praised your technical and mechanical skills. She looked at me and shook her head “you don’t know how to do any of that” lol
